the timeline of mythology is a lot hapazard, but yes she was alive. anasuya and atri are a powerful couple. Anasuya was so pure and strong, that when tridev came to test her, she turned them into her babies.

@NandiniPS - atleast they can show a little burnt cloth or less jewellery. It doesn't make sense. She just turned grey.

AgniDev refused to take her into fire. He doesnt have that power in him to accept goddess Adi parashakthi herself..! So its that just her soul left the human body in which she was present.. its not that her body burnt to ashes!!
