It's clear from replies here that many members are not concerned with accuracy. They just want to see whatever the production house throws at them because it's interesting. Who cares whether it actually happened or not, right?

Anyway, clearly this show is not for die-hard scripture lovers. It's geared more towards the audience who generally does not see mytho shows, because all the production house cares about is giving the viewers a passionate love story even if half the scenes they are showing never happened in the actual scriptures.

Anyway, I hope the show does well for your sake. It's not your typical mythological show and people will either like it or not like it. Those who are seeing a mythological show for the first time in their life, I hope you will give the other shows a chance also as they teach you a lot. Mythological shows often begin religious interest in members who originally weren't so religious, so if DkDM is making you more religious, then I'm happy for this show and wish it well.😊 But personally I'm not very impressed with it, and I'm saying this after watching many other mythological shows, both old and new.

Now don't go throwing tomatoes at me😆, I know you all love this show a lot, and even I am very impressed with the production house and actors, but how many of you who are familiar with Shiva Purana feel that this show is showing more fiction than truth? Sati's love story is not this long. It was difficult for Devi Parvathi to win Lord Shiva's heart, but not for Sati. It's been weeks since this show started, but still there is no sign of Sati and Shiva's wedding happening, and now there's this new dance sequence? When did that happen in the love story of Shiva and Sati?😕 I know it's going to be beautiful and all, but this is not a normal daily soap with ordinary lovers. I doubt Sati and Shiva would ever have danced together before marriage. That was not an acceptable custom in the Satya Yuga. Also, some of the stories they showed on Sati's feelings and all are a bit weird...it seems too modern. While I am impressed with the settings and technology, I'm not that impressed with the storyline. There's way more fiction and drama than actually happened.

I am eager to see Lord Shiva's other stories also, and wish the production house would not concentrate too much on Sati. I want to see Shiva's role in Lord Vishnu's kurma avatar, his marriage to Gauri Ma, the birth of Ganesha and Kartikeya...there is so much to show on Lord Shiva but the production house is dragging the Sati story to its limits. They could also show Lord Shiva being born as Hanuman, Shiva's boons to Ravan, etc...there is a
lot to show on Lord Shiva.

Am I the only one who feels this way or is there anyone else in the forum who agrees with me?

I am with you, Jaanu. I was so impressed with the promos, actors and sets but when I have seen the actual episodes now, I am very disappointed. And I am not surprised. I saw the guy from whom they have taken inspiration to make this show and he was so weird with the way he talks about God 🤔 And the whole Sati ji denying love for Shivji and Shivji thinking he is not good for Sati ji.. what the? 😕 They should remember it is a MYTHOLOGICAL show. Not some daily soap opera. I hope they get back on proper track very soon bcoz I did like to watch it and see proper stories of Shivji.

the show is basically focused on Mahadev and Sati(its given in the synopsis)-the show was named Sati initially,so all the tracks that take place will be focused in that area,so obviously the show will focus more on thier love story than any other things as of now...perhaps naming the show Mahadev was a mistake, for a typical mythological lover it may be upsetting
however its connected with the non religious urban audiences of our country,so i guess somewhere it has fulfilled its objective, its a different point of view of the same story,a different treatment, the characters are made more human than Godly, which may be a bit unacceptable to certain sections
all the things they are showing right now are laying the foundation to the real things/mythology that will come up soon, perhaps to make the audiences understand better!
give the show time and yes a chance, perhaps the show aims at the slightly religiously uneducated people to make them connect with out culture and religion and yes most importantly our youth who needs the "drama" element(created in Mahadev) to watch a show!
