How is sati''is return being incorporated in the story? I mean is it time travel? Or are they showing a 'parallel universe' sort of thing? I'm confused!

I dint watch few episodes so please tell...How Sati came back ? Is it flashback or time travel or parallel universe? Why Sati and Mahadev's story is different than before ?

Mahadev telling his 1 great bhaqt Lakulish how and why he became Vayragi...how Adi Shakti and he split..who is Sati..and what is Sati Rahasyaa...he is explaining Kal Chakra...the story they are showing right now is all new..this all happened before Sati came to know about Mahadev...DKDM started with the epi where Sati came to know about Mahadev..this present track happened before that...
