CHAPTER 8
On the day when the lotus bloomed ,alas ,my mind was straying and i knew it was not . My basket was empty and the flower remained unheeded
Only now and again a sadness fell upon me , and i started up from my dream and felt a sweet trace of a strange fragrance in the south wind .
That vague sweetness made my heart ache with longing and it seemed to me that it was the eager breath of the summer seeking for its completion
I knew not then it was no near ,that it was mine and that this perfect sweetness had blossomed in the depth of my own heart
Manyata folded the paper and kept it inside her bag it was the last memory left to her by her dad ,an entire day have passed Virat along with some mens burned her father 's body ,bridgraaj left her with huge wealth to stay for several generation in ease and comfort ,but that is not what manyata wanted she wanted her dad who would love her ,wipe her tears ,hold her hands and pick her up every time she fell ,thinking about all this made her more gloomy as she shed the tears and cried aloud but now no one was there for her she was completely alone in this world ,she ahd become orphan now no more she wanted to find out anything to her the quest of her mother seemed like an ill omen for this she had to lie ,she had to dies with lie ,believe the truth said by knaves ,get heart broken and loose the only family she had in this world now no more she wanted to risk her friends ,ankita and virat had come to take her back to Calcutta and without any further quest she agreed to go ,but due to the strick of continuous three days she had to stay back today ,ankita was down preparing dinner while virat was with local people of the guest house questioning about the death ,finally manyata came down ,she was all pale her eyes were swollen due to crying and she was in a grey shed as she wore a pale white washed salwar with no hint of joy or being alive she looked like a dead body herself ,she quitely seated herself in the dinning table and soon ankita and virat joined her as ankita served the food and signalled virat to do something to cheer her mind as virat started with his antics
VIRAT:you know mannie that shanky our shankar sir is finally huh is leaving our school isn't that great
manyata ears turned deaf to his words she could just not settle the dispute between her heart and brain ,her heart kept calling that uday was not the murderer while her brain answer were straight that he was responsible for her father dead ,unknown to such tangles of brain virat kept cracking his jokes at which no one ever found anything comical ,finally manyata lost her patience and said
MANYATA;can you please stop it virat i am getting annoyed ok stop your nonsence
saying this she got up to leave as ankita said to her
ANKITA;mannie please completed your dinner atleast
MANYATA:can you please leave me alone please
she said holding back her tears and started to walk towards her room but something pinched her heart and she knew what it was guilt of misbehaving badly with her friends she turned back looking at them and said
MANYATA:i am sorry please guys forgive me
ANKITA:it is ok mannie take your time
VIRAT:we will talk later good night
they bide each other good night as she went to her room ,she locked herself in the room and sat on the bed hot tears rolled off her eyes as she questioned herself
"WHY UDAY WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?"
she kept crying till she fell asleep on the cold floor
IN JAIL OF BAURIA
uday sat on the dark cell where only a hince of light could be seen he had been there for now 12 hours ,he was disheartened ,betrayed and hurt he did not want to set himself free now as in the outer world there was no one for him ,a love who got betrayed by him ,he could not face her ,he felt like a cheater as the jailer came and open his cell lock and said he was set free on going out he saw it was meera who set him free ,his eyes had the fireballs again as he dragged her arms roughly and said
UDAY:why are you here again what you want huh you ahve already ruined my life ?
MEERA:this is not the to pick a fight uday you need to go to manyata she is danger save her uday go
as he heard meera 's word he raced to the guest house for the first time fear crept in his mind fear of loosing his love ,his manyata
IN THE GUEST HOUSE
manyata was into her deepest sleep as she could feel two muscualar arms entrapping her arms as a hard manly solid lips met her tender soft skin ,she was taken aback she opened her eyes wide to met a pair of brown chocolately eyes it was uday for sometime they shared a beautiful eye lock but soon manyata started to struggle like a wild animal and screamed
MANYATA:leave me leave me you ba*ta*d
uday ears turned deaf to her he was to indulge in watching her beauty ,her eyes so helpless her tender soft lips ,but his chains of thoughts were broken as he felt a scrill pain in his adomen he looked down to see manyata had just kicked him before he could figure out anything manyata pushed him with all her might and and raced to the door but she could not make it as soon she found herself being carried in his arms she struggle and kicked her legs in the air and screamed to the fullest ,he pinned her to the bed and said strenly
UDAY:why princess why are you runing away from me i love you
MANYATA:leave me i hate you ...you betrayed me
she could speak no more tears had overpowered her as he said to her
UDAY:no princess i did not betray you meera was my ex wife we are divorced since the past five years
MANYATA;then why did you not tell me about her why ??????
UDAY:because our marriage was just a mistake my mistake
she looked at him blanky as he narrated her the whole story and finally with a glint of guilt he said
UDAY;so this was the story behind my and meera 's marriage
MANYATA:even i am 18 who knows you are playing with my feelings and after getting tried of my body you will also leave me
uday was hurt an arrow had struck his heart but manyata was even more hurt then him while saying this so but she needed to be strong as he asked helplessly
UDAY:what should i do to prove that i love you shall i give up my life
MANYATA:do whatever suits you
her words were cold as he left her arms and headed towards the window manyata stood up to see he stood on the window and said
UDAY ;if my love do not trust me i better die
within an blink of eye he was gone manyata legs were rooted
