Nice post and i respect your opinion but would have to disagree with you because my dislike towards the character is not because of her relationship with Uday- her actions towards him are very much justifiable and the fact that she is in love with Akash makes those actions even stronger but what I don't understand and find it simply annoying is her behavior with her family. At the begining of the show her character is portrayed as a free spirited, loving, respectful, helpful, mature and all of those qualities that a heroin possess but then all of that just went out the window when she came to the palace or I should probably say all of those qualities magically disappear when she interacts with her family members. I understand she has been gone for the past 16 years and doesn't know them, doesn't like all the rules and regulations, has had a certain opinion about rich people all her life but at the end of the day none of this is her family's fault. They never gave up on her, celebrated her birthday every years, never stopped searching for her, always kept her memories with them, and never let anyone take her spot even if it was her younger sister. While "Monya" has a right to be mad at the world and how things have turned out she is taking her anger out at the wrong person. If she wants to be mad at anyone she should be mad at her Baba who took her away and kept her hidden all this time or she could be mad at Brijraj because at the end of the day he started the chain or reaction in this whole fiasco when he accidentally killed Murari's wife and daughter. So her being disrespectful, immature, childish, and manipulative towards her family-especially her mom and grandmother is what irritates me the most not the way she treats Uday because anyone who is in "love" and are all of sudden told their marriage has been fixed with someone else- would have a pretty bad reaction but that's another debate all together.

Take for instance offscreen - when she has on her short pants and tops she is looking very sexy and not chubby.

It's quite ironical that many of us(including me) are oblivious of the fact that the moral grounds we rest upon to chastise other characters of Dek are usually not applied to our favorite character!! To make them open up you have to be one of them!! It's the same with Monya!! She opened up with chowl people and even Unnati, coz they accepted Monya as Monya!!!had not characters like headphones and her cohort, granny of chowl and Unnati accepted Monya as Monya, she would have never been respectful and cosy to them!!! Since I have to watch Monya everyday, I can't take any risk of disliking her!! After all Dek is all bout Monya's dream come true!! I am enjoying the character of Monya no matter however nuisance she may appear to others!! Until and unless there is marked difference between Monya and Manyata in terms of psychic and physic predilection, what's so interesting about seeing the transformation!! Loved the Post made by ... Who very well used the analogy of "Phoenix" to describe Monya-Manyata metamorphosis!!

Brijraj is being GROSSLY unfair, I think with his attitude towards her from the very beginning. And even her aunt, is always so derogatory towards her that if I was in Manyeta's position even I would rebel.

I like Komal the best with Manyata and she also relates best to her mother...she has started calling her Mother and she respects her totally.
