While watching the show and reading the views and opinions of others I couldn't help putting my two cents after today's episode. While I enjoyed watching the shows at the beginning, in the past couple of weeks it has been nothing but frustrating. I feel like the story line has great potential to be successful because it is fairly new and fresh in the world of TV soaps. There are a lot of shows that deal with saas and baahu issues and how either the daughter is scheming and evil or the mother in law. I don't think there is one that is wrong with the show. I think there several things combined that are stopping this show from succeeding. One of those things is INCONSISTENCY. The show is not consistent in regards to the events, the characters and their actions, and the way the story is moving. Things like Manaya missing a bag from one scene to another, or one minute she is romancing with Akash in a restaurant and the next she is sleeping in her bed, the royals not always going outside with guards, Akash receiving a warning one day and a promotion the next, press catching Udayveer & Jay dancing but no press ever seems to catch the outings of Monya& Akash…The character of Akash has the potential of being very liked by audience and in fact show be liked but the reason it is not liked is because it is inconsistent. A good guy who is supposed to be working hard in achieving his goals and at the same time helping the girl he falls in love is not portrayed that way by the actions that he has taken in the past couple of weeks. If his character would've have been portrayed correctly then he would have felt ashamed to be caught in Monya's room because even the most and sincere love would be looked badly upon because of the culture we have. We know they wouldn't have done anything that would have shameful but it is the contexts that it was found that audience find themselves to sympathize with them. He should've apologized to her family and tried to explain why he hiding in the cabinet but instead he did the whole drama of ILY, which proved the family even right and him not being the right guy for her because he doesn't respect her family. There is an old Indian movie dialogue which goes something like "the right person in not the one who separates you from your family but brings you closer". I feel like it applies here perfectly as Akash should be helping her adjust and become closer to her family instead of taking her away from them. Going back to consistency, it is simply possible for a worker to get a warning one day and a promotion the next the way Akash did, thus another mistake made by the writers. The action of getting a promotion suits the character of Akash but not the way the events have been going because even though the writers and Monya and everyone at chawl keep screaming he is a hard worker, he is a hard worker, the audience don't see that because he is constantly on his phone when he is at work, or he leaves in the middle of his work day without thinking twice where as in the real work that wouldn't fly because an assistant manager has a lot of responsibilities that can't be done by other workers.
Monya/Manayata: wow I never thought I would find myself not liking the heroin of a show by I have been proven wrong because she is slowly becoming hard to tolerate. Initially the audience connected with her and the show's rating went up and that the producers keep using her antics thinking that was why the audience liked her. The reason audience initially liked her was because she was a down to earth girl who seem to have strong values and dreamt big dreams just like any other girl in the world. But once she realized her life was a lie and she is a princess, that mature and sensible girl that everyone connected with became this childish/selfish girl who almost seems to be going out of her way to piss others off. I understand that it must be hard to accept the reality of being kidnapped and you whole life being a life. And I understand that it might take some time to adjust to all of the changes as well but that doesn't mean you forget your values and maturity because of circumstances. I mean come on its not like she was brought up in some kind of whole where they don't teach you how to eat or drink. I feel like their taking this whole Monya doesn't know how to behave to a whole different level where she doesn't know how to eat, drink, have respect for anyone or listen to anyone as though people who are poor don't know any of these things. It's an insult to the poor who might have money to give to their children but always teach their children values and manners. Moving on to the way she treats the royal family: I understand that it must be hard for her to adjust to all the rules and ways of the family but that doesn't give Manyata the right to be rude and disrespect them. I mean after all it wasn't their fault she got kidnapped, they were the ones who have been looking for her for 16 years and have always kept her in their memories. So while I understand that you can't love all these strangers over night but at least show them respect as their elder than you are and are in fact trying to understand you and where you come from. It simply seems unrealistic that someone would act this way even after finding out all the truth.
Udayveer is one of the few characters that has been consistent in his actions and ways. The reason people could justify his actions and ways is because he is such a gray character that the audience don't know whether he is a negative or positive character since he shows both things. He is sensitive and nice with his sister but it seems to stop there because the world he has been brought up in he knows the politics and how one uses another for their benefit. If one were to take the show on the surface then Udayveer's character should not be liked because he has done everything that if one were to do in real live would be hated but Udayveer's character is still liked by audience and that's because of the way Akash &Monya are acting and other circumstance that make Udayveer act the way he does. The audience saw that if he is not pushed he is capable of being good and isn't necessarily all bad.
It seems like the whole chawl story line is filler because they do not feel move the story along AT ALL excluding Akash. Chikki and Soni should be adored by the audience because their simple girls who just out there helping their friend but the way their portrayed they seem for a lack of better word annoying.
In all of this RaajMata seems to be the voice of reason but I feel like she is not acting on things she says. She says everything right but then it seems like with everyone else around her orders doesn't get obeyed. By now they should've at least tried teaching her certain things in regards to being a royal but because Manyata has nothing to do all day long that she keeps thinking of ways to go out or doing things that don't seem appropriate for a princess.
Most say that their frustrated that Manyata & Udayveer are not being paired but I think most of the frustration is because the story is not moving along. I mean every episode the audiences think something new will happen but then they see a love scene between Akash&Monya with a background song or Manyata doing something wrong like playing in the mud. The storyline of how Manyata treats workers right and helps them is a good one but the way it was portrayed was not correct as once again the audience found themselves sympathizing with the royals and not the lead heroin.
Wow ok I will be really surprised if someone actually takes the time to read this but I just felt like venting my frustration with this show that oh so much enjoy watching but has been nothing but frustrating instead of enjoyable.Others are welcome to share their views and opinions here 😊
