Hai Di🤗

Fantastic Update👏👏👏I just love Vijay Bhai. I think they should make an episode where Vijay and M bantering and bickering with eachother in their typical style. It will be so much fun. Its like antique pieces of two different worlds coming together.
How can someone be so inconstant? That is so true di. He is not at all steady just like a river even though it seems still it is moving in its own secretive way.
Loved their nok jhok so much...reminds me of good old days of DEK. But no complaints as the show finally picked up some pace.
"Kameeney, keedey, halkat, vedey, sadey huey kele ke chilkey, khasma nu khaaney, marjaaney… Tujhe aur koi kaam nahin hai kya?" Di don't you just love writing these "Gaaliyaan" You don't even have to work hard on writing these. Totally Legit.
She was sulking, and the last thing she needed right now, was the comfort of him, the source of all of her discomforts. And vice-versa...ek doosre ki chot bhi hain aur marham bhi...convinient.
You are the greatest paradox of my life. Kya kare UV cheez hi aisi hai uske saath bhi nahi jaata aur uske bina bhi nahi.
He took a quiet step back and extended his right hand over the part of his chest where his heart should be beating. I wonder what really residers there? That is what I want to know too. I know he has a heart but wht goes inside it is a mystery that is locked in mystic places by god. You gotta be blessed to see what resides in it.
Loved the way he always completes her sentences with his style. Fantastic part di and i loved this new approach. Update soon.

Hai Di🤗 Same to you, 🤗

Fantastic Update👏👏👏I just love Vijay Bhai. I think they should make an episode where Vijay and M bantering and bickering with eachother in their typical style. It will be so much fun. Its like antique pieces of two different worlds coming together. I second your thoughts. He is one colourful character! The actor playing his role has strangely flat, but equally engaging expressions.👏 Yes, it would be neat to see them have a match, one punch of words for another!
How can someone be so inconstant? That is so true di. He is not at all steady just like a river even though it seems still it is moving in its own secretive way. Oye, you're going all poetic on me now too eh? How metaphorical😳
Loved their nok jhok so much...reminds me of good old days of DEK. But no complaints as the show finally picked up some pace. Indeed - finally, something is going on!
"Kameeney, keedey, halkat, vedey, sadey huey kele ke chilkey, khasma nu khaaney, marjaaney' Tujhe aur koi kaam nahin hai kya?" Di don't you just love writing these "Gaaliyaan" You don't even have to work hard on writing these. Totally Legit. omg - this is the best part of writing! Punjabi gaaliyan are epic, none can compare! They flow so effortlessly...
She was sulking, and the last thing she needed right now, was the comfort of him, the source of all of her discomforts. And vice-versa...ek doosre ki chot bhi hain aur marham bhi...convinient. Dil ka rishtaa, bada hi pyaara hai, kitna pagal, yeh dil humara hai... hum toh ek doosre pe marte hain...
You are the greatest paradox of my life. Kya kare UV cheez hi aisi hai uske saath bhi nahi jaata aur uske bina bhi nahi. Indeed - he makes her miserable, but her eyes always wander in search of him when his presence is lacking.
He took a quiet step back and extended his right hand over the part of his chest where his heart should be beating. I wonder what really residers there? That is what I want to know too. I know he has a heart but wht goes inside it is a mystery that is locked in mystic places by god. You gotta be blessed to see what resides in it. Again, trying to do justice to his role - but its tough when you're working with such complexity! In any case, he will unfold... one day.
Loved the way he always completes her sentences with his style. There comes a time in life... Fantastic part di and i loved this new approach. Update soon. Thanks KC! *jhappies* I'm glad you liked it. The next one has some more of this flair, and we'll see how it goes!

Cheers,
dc

Hi all! I'm extremely sorry for the delayed post. I was finding it difficult to beat the writer's block combined with lack of motivation. As a result, you may find an increase in mistakes and well... you can tell where I rushed a bit😕 Okay, so without further adieu, I will let you torture yourself further with my rambles. On a fleeting note, this part is a bit of a filler - please bear with me!😃 I'm going to go duck from the chappals, etc. now!

Part 4

"Beta, aap apne hone-waale pati ke saath bahar ja rahi hain. Zara sa khushi ka izhaar toh kijeeye." (Dear, you are going out with your fianc. Show some sport).

As per request, she flashed a cheeky grin at her grandmother. She felt terrible for it, but it was equally true that she was wholly unimpressed by the entire situation.

With an arched eyebrow, her grandmother placed a hand on her arm. "Zara pyaar se beta," she encouraged with a regal smile. Her ears strained at Mataji's emphasis on "pyaar."

Her heart wrenched as she attempted to add a tone of sincerity to the corners of her mouth. Immediately, the elders exhaled as though they had been holding their breaths. What followed was a brief exchange of satisfied glances between them. So much for sincerity, she thought bitterly.

"Acha Dadisa, Uncle Brij, Autny Komal, hum chalte hain," his assuring voice snaked through her stilled figure, and caught the undivided attention of the three personalities. Her eyes fell to the back of her head and around as she watched him bend over to gather the blessings of each monarch. They already think you're some god, so why the pretence, she wanted to know. But rather than voicing her doubts, she merely stood there like a piece of ancient furnishing – feeling extremely valuable and worthless at the same time.

"Manyata, Uday beta, tum dono bilkul araam se jana. Just enjoy yourselves, and relax." Her father's bubbly voice oozed with the kind of joviality that provoked curiosity. Certainly, all things did not look the way they seemed. As she again walked towards each of the three elders in the room, she noticed things that began to take her interest for a test drive. Her mother's hand lingered lovingly on her cheek, but slightly longer than anticipated. The pride shining through her grandmother's eyes as she held hers conveyed a heightened glow. And finally, the extra mile her father's lips stretched in ease only served to confirm her suspicions. Kuch toh hai, she thought nervously. Kuch toh keeda kar rahey hain yeh sab. Turning pensively towards him, she felt like always – as though she were walking into a wall. Khasma nu khana. Wrinkling her nose, she began to saunter away with tight strides.

As soon as they were away from others' obtrusive glances, she quickened her pace towards the jeep that stood waiting in the lot. She was in no mood for chattiness or other slow formalities insured by her royal title. By the time her companion reached her, she was already seated and trying to think of ways of how to make this drive quicker than lighting. It astounded her how quickly her measure of coming up with quick escapes had narrowed within the past couple of months. Sab iss shahee chidiya ghar ka asar hai (All thanks to this royal zoo), she muttered under her breath.

"Princess," he paused as usual, for the added affect. "Tohra adab se. Aap humesha yeh kyun bhool jaati hain ke aap ek rajkumari hain... " (With a little grace. Why do you always forget that you are a princess...)

A momentary blackness fell over her as she compiled the remainders of her strength and turned heatedly in his direction... her finger, ever-ready and pointed in his direction. It was a weapon of little damage, but she held it sturdily nonetheless, determined to give him a piece of her mind. Cutting into his sentence, she blurted out the twisted truth. "Tu joh hai na, mujhe yaad dilaane wala keeda, joh mere dimaag mein ghuss kar betha hai!" (You are there to remind me na – like an insect that has burrowed a hole intrusively into my mind).

Before she could settle the prickly waves of anger and annoyance battling inside of her, he came at her with unfretted calm. "Chalo, dimaag mein hi sahi... Lekin hum aapke andhar toh kahin ghusse," (Well then, inside of your mind... At least I have housed inside of you somewhere) he extended the "s" purposely. Why wasn't he angry? Shouldn't he be with that monster-sized ego he carried everywhere as a shadow? The softness in his demeanour was not unusual, but like the others she had observed earlier, there was an air of gentle aloofness to his character today. Presenting the question to him would be foolish, as walls only echo, she thought with dismay. Instead, she took in a deep breath and allowed her jittery nerves to settle themselves.

"Tujhe mera naukar ban ne ka bahut shaunk hai na? Chal, teri yeh tamana bhi main poori kar deti hoon." (You are so delighted in becoming my butler na? There now, let me fulfill this desire of yours) Pushing the plastic button on the end of her seatbelt, as he had shown her, she pulled the strap away and began to climb out in haste. To her bewilderment, her foot, chappal, and salwar had decided to wage a war of their own – at her expense. Before she could even think of breaking the fall, she found her body being to descend... into his open arms. Curses. Why couldn't the earth just open and deliver her to the skies, she wondered fleetingly.

"Ah, Princess... Ahista, humne kaha tah na aapse. Hum hain na humesha, aapko bachane ke liye." (... Gently, I told you already. I am always there to save you)

Tu jal kar rakh kyun nahin ho jata (Why do you just turn into ash), she wanted to scream as she found herself burn in his arms. "Mere dil ke nasoor, neechey utar mujhe," (My heart's knot, let me down) she retorted in calm distaste. Batting her lashes slightly, she gave him an extended, sugar and sarcasm-coated smile. Without fail, the ends of his lips stayed fixed upwards, while the eyes remained on her. Before she realized it, she was again, seated in the passenger's side of the vehicle, while he was making himself comfortable in the driver's position.

The sun was bright today. Almost unusually so. The strength of it's rays tested against her tender skin, lighting it on fire. A familiar tingle of doubt bubbled within her. It was like everything in the world was holding another layer – one that she was aloof to. Every whiff of air raised questions of conspiracy.

Lifting her gaze towards the figure in the sky, she squinted at her own stupidity. "Marjaani na hove taan," she berated herself as the sting of momentary blindness cursed her vision. Blinking frequently, she again tried to look around in order to clear the blurriness. At some point, her attention glued to his profile – he was dressed in shade akin to the skies above, and the relaxed posture of his body only seemed too appropriate. Impulsively, her mouth opened to make a comment, but all that came out was emptiness. She sat there awkwardly for a minute, trying to convince herself. Failing miserably, she shifted her weight so to face straight ahead, and crossed her arms.

In this state of detachment, her gaze again travelled upwards, only to be jolted again by the burning hole in the blueness. Blinking furiously, random thoughts buzzed in her head, colliding with frustration and a whole set of other unkempt emotions and questions. And then it occurred to her – Mataji, Maa, and Mahraji – all smiling as if they were sending her off to her husband's post-marriage. Turning abruptly towards his still unaffected persona, she threw her hands up in a huff of realization.

"Oh teri!... Aaj sab log mujhe aise kyun vidah kar rahey teh?" (... How come everyone was saying goodbye to me like that today?) she arched her eyebrow at him, indicating that she was on to something – hopefully the something that was rolling around in his head. The hope etched in her features dulled a little as he failed to react as she wanted him to. Khasma nu kha, she thought, turning back towards the windshield. All traces of excitement fled, but the damned curiosity. It crawled against her loosened skin. Turning back towards him, she re-phrased herself, while simultaneously crossing her fingers behind her back.

"Udaybeer, tujhe nahin lagta ke sab abhi se meri doli tore rahey teh... Ab uh, humaari kahan shaadi hui..." (UV, don't you think everyone was bidding me farewell... I mean, not like we're married or anything...)

"Ho jayegi Princess, uski chinta aap mat kijiye." (It will Princess, don't you worry about that) Her stomach turned upside down. She could feel it shake, catapulting everything inside in random directions. Swallowing the nausea in her throat, she forced herself to acknowledge him with a smile.

"Haan lekin phir bhi. Tumhe nahin laga ke..." (Yes, but still. Don't you think...) Her voice trailed off, like the unstoppable awareness rushing towards her.

Her eyes shifted to the momentary upturn of his thumb as he made a suave turn to the right. Nothing of his physical presence indicated it, but she knew. Despite the obvious occupation of driving, his attention was fully on her. It was in the way that smile dangled loosely upon his lips, the way his long fingers curled around the clutch – confidently, but with a drift of relaxation, the way he had allowed his upper back to push into the black leather of the seat... Again, it occurred to her, how he deftly invaded that space of hers, which one haughtily called personal. Despite the incessant warmth, her skin froze, allowing the trees of tiny hairs to stand on edge. Rubbing the length of both arms, the small of her back pushed a little further into the seat, while she straightened her posture.

A couple of minutes went by, as she collected the fragments of herself that had scattered alarmingly at his intrusion. Focusing her attention on the dense green along the edges of the road, she began to normalize the air as it drifted in and out of her.

A distinct scent nudged her senses, causing her to tighten the folding of her arms. It was the kind of unexpected feeling that nestles into your heart when you are surprised despite knowing of the surprise.

"Kya hua Princess?... Itni garmi mein aapko tandh lag rahi hai?" (What's wrong Princess?... You're feeling cold in this intense heat?) Her focus remained, but the tone of concern whispering through his sarcasm was not immune to her. She wanted to turn and snap at him, but something stopped her.

With startled eyes, she looked upon the back of her right hand. The clear moistness delicately kissed the softness of her skin in thanks before branching into its disappearance. The sensation was feathery – so light, she wondered if it really had been there. But then another such droplet graced the fine bristles of her eyelashes as they bent fleetingly for a rest. Leaving her vision closed to the world, she inhaled the reminiscent fragrance of unexpected baarish. It took her a moment to connect with it, the gentle moistness cascading randomly across her body – but then the grains of liquid were so thin, it was hardly real.

"Loh, asmaan koh bhi patah hai ke aaj Jaigarh ki hone-wali maharani pehli baar apne ghar ah rahi hain." (Seems like even the skies have heard about the first visit of the future queen of Jaigarh to her home.)

The curtains to her vision flipped open. Forgetting the bin-mausam barsaat, she felt the blood begin to pulsate in her temple. He must be joking, she told herself. There is no way I am going to the place where he calls home, poked in her self-assurance.

"Dekh Udaybeer, baat sirf drive taq hui teeh," (Listen UV, the deal was only regarding a drive out) she tossed a warning glance at him. Cursing herself inwardly, she noticed the tremour in her finger as it aimed falteringly at his unaffected persona.

The squeal of the tires burst into the air as the machine carrying them came to an abrupt stop.

"Baat toh poori umar ki bhi hui hai... wifey."

Cheers,

dc
