To answer your first question, Uday is not in love with Manyata at the moment. He's only after her because they were betrothed at an early age so now he considers himself her fiance (so does her family). And also because she's the only girl who resists his charm, which is a blow to his ego. So that's why he's after her now.. he will fall for her later.. I'm sure.

As for your second question, no, Manyata hasn't had her makeover yet so we still see her in that ugly shalwar kurta.
