In celebration of Lohri most of the servants had the day off. Manyata wanted to cook something even though she could have had someone else make it before they all went off to celebrate with their families. She started looking for things and started preparing food. She tucked in the pallu of her sari and began the task. She wanted biryrani, paneer makani with rotis.

She realized she needed another pot and got up on the stool. It was kinda wobbly but she attempted anyways to grab the pot she needed. Suddenly something gave out, and she felt herself falling.

However she landed in strong arms instead of the hard cold floor, her head hit a firm chest instead of the ground. She opened her eyes slowly and looked wide eyed at her husband of just a few weeks.

"Aap kab aaiye?," she asked.

He raised his eyebrows at her. She was rarely this polite.

"When you were trying to climb something that could not support your weight," he quipped.

She punched him in the chest.

So much for being polite.

"Manyata the stool was unstable, why were you using it?," he inquired.

She sighed.

"You can put me down now," she demanded.

He put her down quickly.

She pouted.

"Since you are taller than me, grab that pot so I can cook dinner," she hissed.

He looked at her surprised.

"We have food in the fridge," he quipped.

" I wanted some rich Punjabi food," she replied.

He rolled his eyes as he turned to grab the pot for her.

" Yeh lo. Happy now?," he asked.

"Thanks, you may go now ," she replied.

"Wow you sure like giving the orders around here," he stated as he grabbed her arm and pulled her close.

He took the pot from her hands and put it on the counter behind him. She gazed into his eyes. She didn't want to get lost in his eyes. They just were too intense sometimes.

His fingers caressed the exposed skin of her waist. She grasped his shoulders. He pulled on her pallu letting it cover her waist.

"How about we cook together," he quipped.

She raised her eyebrows.

"You know how to cook?," she inquired.

He chuckled.

"I should have a interest after all I am in the hotel business," he quipped.

She smiled. She thought she would end up chasing him out of there sooner or later so she let him stay for now.

He cut the veggies as she started the tarkha and boiled rice. They combined their efforts and now all was left was to make aata. She felt his warm breath on her neck as she slipped her hands in the aata. He kept hugging her from behind. She by accident touched his cheek with a bit of aata, he rubbed his stubble on her cheek. She winced and tried to push him back.

He let her be, as he turned to check on the biryani.

" Princess it looks good," he quipped.

Manyata placed the aata in the fridge and leaned over the stove inhaled the smell.

"Acchi khushboo hai," she quipped.

"Humari pyaar ki," Udayveer quipped.

She rolled her eyes at him.

"You wish. We just cooked together. I am glad it turned out good. I am starving. I am going to eat some of this and then make rotis," she quipped.

They ate sitting across from each other.

He gazed at her amused.

" Why are you staring at me? Food is good, look I am eating it," she quipped.

He pinched her cheek.

" I don't know how you stay slim eating all this," he quipped as she ate her third roti

She looked at him annoyed.

"Just because I am a girl doesn't mean I have to restrict myself," she quipped.

He laughed.

"It must be all the running and jumping you do," he joked

She looked at him firmly.

" If you haven't realized it already, it's mostly away from you," she said before turning to gather the dishes. He watched her for a bit as she cleaned. Then he grabbed the hose and squirted her with it.

"Udayveer how dare you!," she shrieked.

The sari now was drenched enough to show her figure.

He gazed at her for a moment before he realized she would try to get him back.

" You always tell me what princesses don't do, now look what a rajkumar has done? What if someone saw me like this? What would you say then," she exclaimed.

"I wouldn't let them see you like this," he quipped.

She looked at him puzzled.

Suddenly he came to stand closer to her.

"I would hide you from the world if it meant protecting you from a bad name," he said.

She gazed at him amazed.

He lifted her up.

She didn't fight him as he carried her to the staircase.

"You go ahead and change. I'll finish up here and join you soon," he said.

She merely nodded.

She emerged wearing sleeveless nightgown that ended at the knees. He looked her up and down and smiled.

"Looking gorgeous," he quipped.

She smiled slightly.

"Thanks for the compliment but I am in the mood of sleeping now,," she said as she tumbled into bed. He shook his head at her antics.

"One day I will get you princess," he quipped.
