Chapter 4: Accidently Introductions
As the weekend passed Uday watched his fiance from a manageable distance. Usually, he kept his weekends free to hang out with his friends, go to a party or throw one and sometimes simply get all the paper work done. This weekend however was dedicated to his princess and his new home. Prince Udayveer Pratap Singh was house hunting because he did not think that his princess is not the type who will like to live in the penthouse of a hotel no matter how lavish it is. Of course the palace in Jaigarh was huge but since his princess was studying here it made more sense to have a place in Mumbai. Here he is sitting in his office on a perfectly fine Sunday night looking at the picture of his princess in a baby blue churidaar. She had looked so serene in that color that he could not control his urge to take a picture of hers in the camera he always kept with him as he liked photography. He smiled looking at the picture; baby blue was definitely her color. This girl has turned him into a stalker.
He had seen a lot of different versions of her in past two days. She was very protective of the twins. She took care of their every need be it small or big. His princess also had a fetish for shoes. She had bought more pairs of shoes than she had bought clothes in mall on Saturday. What is up with girls and shoes, he has to ask Unnati about that. She liked fresh flowers in her house as she bought them from the vendor outside her building every day. She had a way making people talk to her without revealing anything about her. The flower vendor knew nothing about her but she knew everything about him from his wife to his grandchildren. He knows this because he had chatted with the vendor after she had bought her flowers this morning. It was Murari kaka's doing that she was so cautious around people. Well, good for her. The highlight of the weekend was when he saw his princess bargaining with the vegetable vendor over the price of ginger. Uday still cannot believe that he went through the effort of disguising himself so that he can go to the vegetable market and observe her.
There was also a low point of the weekend but Uday was glad that it was over with. Aakash, his princess's "Romeo" as he liked to call him finally came and met her. This gave him a chance to size him up. His princess was supposedly in love with this guy but Udayveer Singh was nothing to sneeze at. A girl who can resist his charm was yet to born on this earth. This romeo had no chance against him. His princess apparently has no idea that she was betrothed to him when they were kids. He was going to have gala time breaking it to her. He was eagerly waiting for their first meeting. Uday has never worked so hard for someone so ordinary. But to win some you have to lose some and in this case he will be winning a lot. For the first time in his life Uday was planning his life around someone else's. His schedule was adjusted according to his princess's schedule. It was first time his very beautiful secretary was annoyed to make all those changes. Soon his princess will be planning her days according to him. Just one more semester and she will be done her degree. He has six months to make her a princess from an ordinary girl, turn that coal into a shining diamond. With that thought Uday went to bed and let sleep take over.
Next morning was very eventful for Manyata. It was the usual chaos on the first day of semester, twins not willing to wake up and she giving them threats to do so. She did not wanted to be late today. Her professor had sent an e-mail last night saying that the recruiters from different companies will be at the campus today and he wanted everyone to get there on time. This will be a great opportunity for her to gain experience. She had seen the list of companies coming to hire interns. One of them was Uday Villas and Manyata really wanted to be selected by them. The Uday Villas hotels had great architecture and interior. She had visited one of them with Murari kaka and loved every bit of it. She wanted to get there early and grab a good seat. But the twins were not helping at all. She has to stoop to dirty tactics. For now she was packing kaka's lunch.
"Manyata beta lunch pack kar diya mera?" Murari asked coming from his room into the kitchen, "aaj mujhe jaldi jaana hai."
"Ji kaka kar diya hai," Manyata said closing the lid on lunch box, "lekin jaane se pehle aapko mera ek kaam karna hoga'jaa kar unn do jaanwaron ko utha kar aayiye please warna mujhe late ho jaayega."
Murari who was already ready to go to work laughed, " aise bhi kya jaldi hai beta'abhi toh bahaut time hai teri class shuru hone mein."
"kaka aaj selectors aa rahe hain university mein interns ko select karne ke liye aur aaj main late nahin hona chahti hoon'please go wake them up." Manyata whined.
"Tu tension kyun leti hai beta'tera selection toh kisi achi si company mein ho hi jaayega'tut oh topper hai apni class ki'tujhe to sabhi apni company mein lena chahenge," Murari reassured her.
"Topper hoon to kya kaka'agar late ho gayi toh kya impression padega sab par'go wake them up now." Manyata pushed Murari to twins' room.
Today she had forgotten that Aakash had not called her yet. The only thing that was on her mind was to get selected into the team of Uday Villas. She rushed to her room to get ready after she finished making breakfast. She dressed into a red kurti and blue jeans, applied some mascara and eyeliner and left her hair loose to fall naturally to her back. According to Manyata less was more when it came to cosmetics. Then, she got the twins ready. Breakfast was a noisy deal. Twins complained about having to wake up early to accommodate Manyata. Between the usual arguing and leg pulling no one noticed the frown on Murari's face. Twins were doing their bachelors at same university. All three of them got on to their scooters and left for university.
Udayveer looked at Jaynandini sitting right next to him chattering about how cool it was that he was dropping her at the university today. Uday had been at the Devgarh palace this morning to meet Dadi Sa and Murari kaka to discuss Manyata's security plan for the semester. At the breakfast table Jay was complaining about have to go to university in India. Rajmata had called her back due to security reasons and attacks on Manyata. She wanted all the family together. As Jay would be going to same university as Manyata it would also be easier to place guards for Manyata without her know until they tell her and the public announcement of her being the princess is made. Udayveer volunteered to drop Jay at university as he was going to the recruit his princess as an intern for his company. This made Jay feel better also. The most eligible bachelor of the country was dropping her off at university on the first day. Uday was simply looking forward to meet his princess for real this time. As he parked his car at university parking lot and turned the ignition off they heard combined honking then got a huge jolt. Somebody had crashed into their car. Uday got really mad at the person who had crashed into his Audi TT. Uday took his cars very seriously. He paid more attention to his cars than he did to girls. Then he checked the rearview mirror to see who the culprit was and smiled wickedly.
When Manyata entered the university campus she saw a huge convoy of cars entering the parking lot. She asked the gate keeper what was going on and was told that Prince Udayveer had just entered the campus as he is here for the recruitment of interns. This made Manyata more nervous, the boss of the company in which she wanted to be selected was here. And she had heard that he was really harsh in his business dealings. He is definitely going to be strict. She tried to maneuver her way to her parking spot with her scooter as she did not wanted to be late for the interviews, she managed pretty well until she got to her spot. Then some of the drivers honked together at her and she lost her balance and hit the car parked in the front of her. She fell down with her scooter on her. Manyata closed her eyes in distress as she saw the model of the car. She would never be able to afford the repairs on this one. Oh God! This day was not starting very well. She did not realize she was hurt and there was a scooter on her leg until the twins came shrieking at her. With the help of the gatekeeper and twins she got up. Saachi took her scooter and parked it right next to the car. Manyata braced herself to be confronted by the driver of the car who had just come out.
"I am really sorry for car'"Manyata started to apologize as she tried to place the face of the guy in front of her but the guy stopped her mid-sentence. He was wearing a simple black shirt with blues jeans and ray ban aviators. He looked very familiar to her.
"Are you okay?" Uday asked in a regal tone looking at his princess, all the anger forgotten when he saw that she was hurt. There were cuts on her arms and it looked like she had sprained her leg. But he could not be sympathetic to her after all she had just dented the trunk of his favorite beauty.
"Look I am really sorry," Manyata tried again, "I got nervous when they all started to honk at me and lost my balance. I was in the hurry to get to my class." Manyata told him still trying to place this stranger.
"Agar tum jaldi mein thi iss mein hamari kya galti hai'chote logon ki yahi problem hai pehle galti karte hain phir sorry bolte hai," Jay said who had also stepped out of the car, "Waise what can you do other than say sorry, you don't look like someone who can afford the repairs to the car."
This made Manyata angry but she kept her calm, "Look I did not do it intentionally." She told both Jay and Uday. Students were gathering around them now. Girls who had already recognized Uday had already started whispering to each other about him. When the guards saw the commotion increasing they came towards Manyata but Uday stopped them and signaled to handle the crowd. He did not want her to know who he is yet. He could tell that his princess was trying to place him. First she dented his car and now his ego. Soon princess all you will think of is will be me, Uday thought to himself.
"If you get nervous by little honking what will you do when life throws real challenges in your way. Then a sorry won't cut it for you." Uday told Manyata, "Don't worry about my car, I'll take care of it. Go get cleaned up or you will definitely be late for you class for which you banged my car," Uday smirked at her and told Jay to let it be and get going as she don't want to be late for her class. He left with his back on her as the guards made way for him and Jay.
Manyata entered the class late and limping. The nurses at the medical wing were hovering over her a bit too much for Manyata's like. She literally had to go through five tests before they finally let her go with a bottle of painkillers and ointment. Nothing was working out as the wanted today. She was looking like a mess. No one would recruit her looking like this. Then she saw the guy whose car she had crashed into sitting with the recruiting panel and cursed her fate. His nameplate read Prince Udayveer Pratap Singh Rathod, the owner of Uday Villas. No wonder he looked familiar. She had seen him on numerous magazine covers and TV shows. This was her most horrible dream come true. When Uday saw her enter he examined her top to bottom discreetly from his seat in the panel of recruiters. There were bandages on her arms and she was limping. He saw the painkillers and ointment in her hand and was relieved that his orders were followed properly by dean. The dreadful expression on her face was quite enjoyable. This was his future queen who got scared by loud honking. How will she deal with the pressures of being a princess? His work was really cut out for him. He would have never looked twice at a docile person like her and now he had to deal with her for the rest of his life. Things a man did for his ambitions. He had looked at her files when she was in the infirmary. She will definitely be an asset for the company. They just have to start working on her nerves asap.
"Manyata Chauhan" Uday's Vice President and Head Architect Josh Sharma called her name. Uday and Josh were best friends. They had known each other since university. Josh was the only person other than Unnati who knew the sensitive Uday. Manyata got up from her seat and limped her way to the Uday Villas' panel table with as much dignity possible under the given circumstances.
"Please sit." Josh told her. Manyata sat looking nervously at him and Uday. Josh smiled at her as he could understand what she will be going through this time. Uday had told him all about the parking lot accident. "Miss Chauhan your drawings are very impressive. Some very definite and clean lines here and your professors recommend you highly. You have filled Uday Villas as your first choice to be recruited in. Why?" Josh asked. Princess or not Uday and Josh decided that she has to earn her way in the firm.
Manyata realized that this was her chance to make it or lose it. She wiped Uday out of her mind and pretended that he was not smirking sitting in front of her. "Uday Villas give classic a new definition sir, their hotels show a great blend of royalty and comfort. The architecture does not waste any spaces. The fusion of Victorian architecture with modern interiors in Uday Villas' Mumbai show that the company understands change sir. I am also a big believer in change'if a thing goes stagnant it loses its purpose. What is the point of designing something that will lose its purpose one day. That is the reason I want to join Uday Villas and learn." Manyata replied.
After listening to her reply Josh was thoroughly impressed, "You are hired Miss Chauhan. Please come to our office tomorrow to finish the paperwork and give us your university time table."
Manyata was too shocked to say anything but before she could celebrate her success Uday spoke, "Welcome to Uday Villas Miss Chauhan. I just hope you design better than you drive. Please be appropriately dressed tomorrow." With that he left with Josh with his guards following him. Manyata just stared at his back for the second time this morning shocked by his audacity. She did not know whether to be happy that she got selected in the firm where she wanted to or be sad that she had to work with that arrogant Prince for next six months.

First of all really sorry for the late update. i know i know..this update is really long and i m honestly sorry if i bored u with all the details. I kept them really in control. I still do not like the first meeting as much but if i kept that up i wud never update. so this is it.i have made some changes in ff as u guys must have noticed...UV and M have actual last names. manyata is no longer in first year of master...she is in her last semester...i just did not wanted her to be in uni in that long.
Also, i have updated the pm list.if ur r not there lemme know i will add u. it is at page 4
Sorry for mistakes and missing words...my brain is buzzing rite now with all that writing. Please do reply. comments, criticisms, complains and chappals all are welcome.
