I went to shop for some toys for my baby niece.. After a long time I went to seriously look into girls toys.. I was kind of surprise when I noticed some dolls.... The way they were presented was clearly wrong one ...atleast to me those were too alluring.

I would like to know your opinion about such toys. Do you think toys affect a child's attitude in real life or it doesn't matter as long as parenting is in right direction.

IMO the right direction in parenting matters. I have seen parents get 'appropriate' toys, educational stuff and all the jazz and have the most misbehaved uncouth kids. On the other hand I have seen kids play with toy guns, rough games etc and still be most well adjusted. Good parenting precedes all toys.

However, I understand where you come from in terms of certain dolls. Most children do not perceive the world like we do so certain factors in dolls do not effect them, of course there are exceptions. I remember my cousin brother and I used to strip our barbie and ken dolls and have them sit naked while their clothes were being washed laundry. At that age we were seriously just thinking about the laundry and nothing else.

I am not sure where you are located but if you are in USA I highly recommend American girl dolls. They are quite expensive, but highly worth it.

Nice points RH, I will post my views later😊

Thanks for suggestion, infact as a child I didn't play with dolls so personally dont' have any experience regaridng this , yes I played with stuffed animals , for me and my brother those were kind of real cause we used to feed them , and ofcourse if couldn't find them eating through mouth stuffed bread inside to make life tough for our mother😆

I know those toy stores are so easy for adults to get mesmerised and lost in , aren't they? 😉 . Btw unless your niece is into dolls, I would get her a puzzle/game, stuffed animal or take her to a x-mas show or movie. Never had to buy a doll for any of my eight nieces. 😛 .

Actually a week back on tv I caught Dr. Phil (I usually don't find the time to watch the show). But that day he had a very interesting topic on. It was regarding the clothes girls chose to wear these days, and he said that to some extent girls do influenced by the dolls they play earlier on in their childhood. And he showed some of the dolls and I totally do c your point. To some extent I got convinced with his point as well. Anyway, if you find the time do try to catch that particular episode.
