Sorry for going off-track but when I read it, I was like struck by a K-bolt.

But I agree with Raksha. Vinu, please don't comment about out Gods this way. Whatever happened to omnipresence --

Am not againt Lord Rama n other things...😊,Rama make that bridge to find seeta......its over😳 after that lot things happen....rama n seeta ruled ,they have kids n other things......Now for the nation, 50mtr drig kiya tho nothing happen..😊thats why i said if rama is alive he will allow to do this project.

Why people dont think practicly....the project will allow ships sailing between the east and west costs of India to have a straight passage through Indias territorial waters, instd of having to circumvent Sri Lanka..its good for ou nation....😳

Some points

[quote]

Savings in shipping costs. Fuels consumption will decrease because shipping distance is reduced by an average of 424 nautical miles (780 km) and sailing time is reduced by about 30 hrs. Forex payment will decrease due to decreased transshipment on foreign shores.

? ?Asset to national defense and security?. ?Indian Coast Guard and Navy will not have to circumvent Sri Lanka and there will be easier quicker access between the coasts of India.?

? Benefits to fishermen. They ?will directly benefit due to the potential for development of fishing harbors (between Nagapattinam and Tuticorin) with proper landing and storage facilities.? ?Indian fishing boats can transit freely though Adam's Bridge. This is not possible today.?

? Port development, employment generation and increase in maritime trade. Port activities at Tuticorin and Ramanathapuram will increase, generating additional employment in the area. As trading activities increase from these ports, additional wealth will be created in these areas.

^I was objecting to the way you talked about Lord Ram, as if he is some politician or something ..Never ever talk about Gods being alive or otherwise..Its simply a no no..Lord Ram is not like some politician who could be dead or alive or whatever..Lord Ram is omniscient - meaning, He is not a part of the life and death loop..

By saying that if Lord Ram was here today ,He would do this or that, are you actually insinuating that He doesn't exist anymore???😔😒

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs. Just as you, raksha, cannot think of Ram as anything but God, Believe thinks of him as a human being. It is an opinion or belief at the end of the day, nothing more. He is not actually being disrespectful at all. He is saying that, in his opinion, Shri Ram would not stand in the way of this project simply because of the bridge he built (because of the benefits that it could offer - as per Believe's opinion). Whether as God or man, he would think first about the good of the people. This opinion is highly respectful of the legend. Jesus is thought by Christians to be God while Jews think he was a false prophet. Totally contradictory beliefs. They have grown beyond the enmity they had centuries ago. They can live side by side so why can't we desis? 😊

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Buck-passing_begins_on_Se tu_blunder/articleshow/2372960.cms

NEW DELHI: Even as it struggles to contain damage caused by its "no-proof of Ram's existence" affidavit, the controversy has opened up cracks in the ruling UPA coalition, with Jairam Ramesh, minister of state for commerce, seeking to nudge culture minister Ambika Soni to resign for the fiasco.

Simultaneously, Tamil Nadu chief minister and Congress' crucial ally, M Karunanidhi, staunchly defended the affidavit since withdrawn by a red-faced government.

"There is no historical proof for the existence of Lord Ram or the bridge," said the ally known for his atheist leanings.

Ramesh dropped the bombshell in Kolkata. "I would have resigned if I had been the culture minister owning moral responsibility," Ramesh said of Soni who, within hours of her return from Japan, had got down to limiting damage by suspending two middle-ranking ASI officers and seeking an explanation from its head.

A political casualty seems unlikely, but prospects of a cabinet reshuffle are growing.

Some Quotes from Dr Praveen Togadia

VHP general secretary Dr Praveen Togadia declared: ?If it were Mohammed Ali Sethu, instead of Ram Setu, the Manmohan Singh Government taking hourly instructions from Sonia Gandhi, would not have dared to touch it. Besides preserving it, the Government would also have declared a special subsidy for the devout Muslims to visit it, drawing inspiration from the politically spiritual message of the disgraceful Justice Sachar Commission. The Government of India is working round the clock to destroy the identity and culture of the Hindus. Ram Sethu is a Punya Teerth for all of us and we will not allow anyone to destroy it at any cost. The Governments of Egypt and China are spending crores of rupees to preserve their ancient sites but our anti-Hindu Government is spending cores and crores of rupees to destroy our ancient sites, which are internationally important?.

History says that Eve born in middle east n Adam born n Sri lanka.....the first man n women is so big...so the jurney from Sri lanka to Saudi is not much big....like that stories also running now a days..... 😃

Adams Bridge as seen from the air
Adam's Bridge as seen from the air

Rama's bridge could only be 3,500 years old according to the Centre for Remote Sensing (CRS) of Bharathidasan University in Tiruchi.

Karunanidhi ready to consider realignment of Sethu project
24 Sep 2007, 0001 hrs IST,T S SREENIVASA RAGHAVAN,TNN

CHENNAI: Embattled Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi said on Sunday he was open to considering realignment of the Sethusamudram project, and that his government's only priority was its implementation. "It's for engineers to decide on any realignment," he told newspersons here on Sunday.

Speaking further, the Tamil Nadu CM said the project should be completed on time and added that political demonstrations for the implementation of the Sethusamudram project would continue through out the state.

Karunanidhi was responding to questions whether the Congress leadership had put pressure on him to stop making any more "outrageous" remarks on Lord Ram, particularly in light of the fact that he had refused to respond to VHP leader Ram Vilas Vedanti's "dharmadesh" (religious edict) calling for his head.

Ruling out any differences with the Congress, the DMK veteran hoped nothing "adverse" would happen to his party's relationship with Congress and said there was no need for the Congress to talk on the issue "as the Sethusamudram case is with the Supreme Court."

In the process, however, Karunanidhi embarrassed his party subordinate and Union minister for shipping and road transport T R Baalu, for the minister had only the previous day said there was no question of realignment of the project and that the earlier remark made by Karunanidhi to this effect were "out of anguish to see the project through." Baalu, however, shot off a letter to prime minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday seeking action against Vedanti for issuing a "fatwa" against Karunanidhi.

"On behalf of DMK parliamentary party, I appeal to the government of India to interfere (sic) forthwith and take immediate action with a firm hand, so as to put an end to such unlawful, undemocratic provocative attitude of persons like Ram Vilas Vedanti, who is driven by religious fundamentalist forces, who have deep-rooted design to destabilise the country," Baalu said in his letter. Quoting media reports, Baalu pointed out "such barbarious (sic) and heinous threats on the life of our beloved leader have sent shock waves across the Tamil community and infuriated crores of Tamil people all over the world and unequivocally hurt Tamil sentiments cutting across party lines," he said. Baalu, in his letter, also said the atmosphere in Tamil Nadu was tense and surcharged with emotions. "Nothing should be allowed to develop into unmanageable turmoil leading to a flashpoint," he urged.

A lobby of mahants had publicly issued a religious edict to behead the Tamil Nadu CM for calling Ram a drunkard.😡 They'd offered to weigh in gold any person who would bring Karunanidhi's head to Ayodhya. 😉
