u people can wish now on the thread as its opened again..... thanks to tania 😊 ...... really appreciate.... but the debate can go on 😛 as it was opened as debate topic...... the DT can close it though 😆

this is inappropriate. there are certain things that mean to some people and we should respect it. for some people birthdays is considered as significant as any other occasion. so lets respect that. locking the thread suddenly without the notice of the person who opened the thread or not giving time for the birthday person to respond to it is little not right. just my 2 cents. just to let you know that i am speaking on behalf of others perspective and not for myself 😊

I feel that closing a thread is okk but closing it abruptly definitely doesnt hold good.....

it may be birthday or any thread.... we dont knoe how much time the person opening the thread might have invested in it.... (speaking for any thread).... and closing abruptly without citing a reason is simply not correct....

As far as birthday thread is concerned.... closing it under any reason on the special day does not hold good.... and if there is any reason it shall be communication to the birthday guy or girl so they may not get upset.... and know the reasons.....

I agree with most of you guys. Birthday thread should be allowed to be open even if there one in another section. If topic was closed in an error than we can over look it.

Closing topic on someone's Bday can hurt feelings especially w/o any explanation or PM and not making themselves available for members to ask why it was closed. Admin who closes the topic must remain available for little time to answer these Qs or have another member of Admin aware of it so they can answer. It is being polite and professional about it.

I am glad the topic has been reopened for rest to wish Minali birthday wishes.

Happy Birthday once again to you Minali and many more to come 😃

Honestly, I do not believe there can be a debate on this topic. I mean, I haven't read anybody speaking against the birthday threads nor do I anticipate reading any (I could be wrong though). If this is true, then there is no point in carrying the discussion forward. The members have more than presented their sentiments and I concur with them. 😛

Is it okk to close a birthday thread if another thread is opened in some other section, where most of the people of this section dont go??????

"Should a birthday thread be closed before the end of the special day for a person without letting the person know" – this is the subject of debate.

Like everybody else I also feel that a birthday is a special occasion and the birthday girl or boy should be made to feel special . I have read through the pages and find that we are all in agreement with this opinion. In that case, we actually have no debate in hand. So if the author allows me I can always close this thread.

I would like to say sorry on behalf of the Dev Team. It was an error of confusion and nothing personal. Please rest assured we will try our best to make sure same does not get repeated again. Please lets not go into Dev Team bashing here. 😆
