Kabhi, I don't know about full article about what's the background and whats the whole story. That would 've been helpful. This is truly cruel and inhuman.

However, if you put yourself in position of that girl. What if she was raped. In India there are lot of families and sometimes in poor family or some caste they are more rigid with girls being pregnant. Maybe she was raped and never found out until late that she was pregnant. However, it's hard not to find out that you are pregnant before first trimester. But maybe she was still in truma and when she did find out about her pregnancy it was too late. She was poor enough not to take her of herself, how could she take care of child? Am sure there would have been some major reasons, or even if that woman was mentally sick or retarded or something. Or who knows someone took baby from mother in hospital and had some enmity and its not parents but someone else did it. Point being I would not judge or blame parents without knowing the whole story.

Your question- Should this parents be hanged to death sentence? For trying to kill the baby with knife- sure. If mother is retarded or has emotion truma maybe she should get treatment. Father if they are able to find out who the father is and if he was aware of the situation he too should be charged.

I also posted another update in page 5 i think......

police caught mother.... it was a child of extra marital affair.... mother said they cd nt afford a child..... and hence did this......

1. She may not know of pregnancy... it can only happen if she is illterate about this..... i have read newspapers Q and A... and have enough education to state that a girl would know if she is pregnant or not within a month..... (if they have sex education).... if she did nt know of pregnancy, how did she know that the child was from her lover and not husband....

2. they cd have put the child to orphange.. what was need to stab the child and put in dustbin.....

3. from anything i cant see any reason that can justify this act....

Ok i read more about story on page 3. I had not read all the pages.. Yeah it's terrible for mother to do that. It's just hard to digest how can someone stab their own or anyone's infant ....its cruel. Ofcourse, she was 19, extra marital affair and other things show her character and hope she gets tough punishment for such brutal act....
