a little time back there was a huge uproar in andhra pradesh regarding cristian missionaries disributing bibles n pamplets of christianity in tirumala n in colleges held by temple board. this had come along wid pictures in newspapers.

regarding this some people critisized the hindus about goin against this. wht is ur call abt it?

i feel 1 has the rite 2 protect his religion. will any muslim agree if v distribute bagwadgita in mecca or christian agre 4 conversions in rome.

I would support the Hindus on this one without a doubt. There is a time and place for everything. And temple is inapproreate venue for other religious preachings. Sitting in a church, Can I chant Gayatri and discuss how and why KARMA could be the right way to heaven instead of being sinful, asking for forgiveness and banking on a messiah 😳 I guess not. Simple as that.

My personal take on this is I don't support anyone distributing religious pamphlets at any place or go home to home to distribute religious books.

JIHMO - no offy pls.

I see nothing wrong in that, its upto individuals how they perceive image of God Almighty as one of different.

On one end we talk about religious biasing etc on the other restrict freedom of spreading message of God. Yes! I know there is place, time for exercising freedom of actions but no harm IMO. They are not forcing people to convert, just spreading a message. What's wrong in spreading Lord Krishna's message in Christian religious gathering?

I have this Christian community group door to door waley, visiting my place once in 2 weeks and they hand out pamphlets etc, and tell lot of wisdom thoughts written in Holy Bible, hear them out and tell them how somethings are related to Hinduism. Seriously, see no problems. Hope this coming out from hindu Brahmin must be sounding lil 😕, yes am religious and God fearing.. same time I had offered prayers in Mandir, Gurudawara, Church, Masjid... derive same level of peace there just remember God with true feelings. 😊

Do you believe we can actually do that? I failed preaching EVOLUTION to a group 😉.. hence skeptical.

Yes! Personally see no problems. Am not saying preaching to influence individuals for a change of religion. Spreading the message, with mutual respect to each others religion.

I would completely agree with you on that. However, the pamphlets that I have usually collected don't provide information about the other religion but rather conveys a message of how there is only ONE way not to burn in hell.. The way often suggested pretty much contradicts other religious beliefs.. and hence I fail to see the mutual resepect to other religion in such pamphlets.

Your thought is nobel and I support it, but my experience with collecting these pamphlets makes me say the above.

PS- I clearly don't mean to offend anyone. Few of my best friends and non-Hindus.

Same here. I live in a place with only American neighbors who follow the same religion. I have visitors who wants to gift me their religious books and talk about their principles. I politely refuse them.

Once I told them I believe that all religions teach the same thing and I already learnt a lot from my religion. We had similar kind of talks for sometime and when they realized that they can't enter my house or have nothing more to preach, they smiled and left.
