😆 - Kis ke bacchey, Raunaq?

After listening to HR's version of Mehbooba, I can see where this movie is headed!!

As for Amitabh taking every role - why not? He's at a stage when he can play any role he wants to and not be tied down by an image. Look at what an amazing he has done in Cheeni Kum - can you imagine any of his contemporaries doing that role? Rajesh Khanna? Vinod Khanna??

He's used the remix version for Aap ka Suroor. Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't he sung the Mehbooba song in the remake??

Remaking a masterpiece, according to me, is a very risky venture. RGV is a genius; he has proved this time and again.
Sholay, though, defines Bollywood and all the characters in this movie have become immortal for the film industry.

Gabbar Singh: Amjad Khan put life in the character and got immortalized as Gabbar forever. Now, Amitabh Bachchan aka Jai does look deadly in the promos and of course, he is THE greatest actor. But I am still unable to visualize Gabbar without the military jacket, without rocks around him, and what not! Amitabh Bachchan has done full justice to every role that he has played since he made his comeback and I hope remains the same with Sholay but for me, Gabbar Singh will always be Amjad Khan.

Veeru: I find the choice of Ajay Devgan very amusing for this role. Ajay is indeed an actor of great caliber but he has been tagged as a serious actor for a long time and Veeru was NOT serious in anyway!

Jai and Ghunghroo: I have not seen much of James and Nisha, so can't comment but it would be really hard to recreate the magic of Big B and Hema Malini!

Thakur: Oh that somber look on his face when the shawl blows away! Haay, me ghayal… I don't know how anyone can be like the great Sanjeev Kumar!!

The million dollar question: Has Ramu taken the right decision?
The movie has not released yet and so it is impossible to say whether it is right or wrong.
But, this decision has the capability of transforming Bollywood. The Sholay that has been regarded as the epitome of Indian film industry for such a long time is being remade; I can just hope that we get to see something at least close to Sholay that we all worship; else Ramu will lose all the respect that he has earned by this one stroke.

Comparisons are going to be made, obviously. The newspapers are going to be full with critics commenting on RGV ke Sholay for quite some time but ultimately, it's the box office reaction which will make the decision, the same way it happened with Sholay (original).

We can all just wait to see what RGV has come up with!

Classics that can never be perfected then it already is perfect should never be played with. Remakes should never happen, look how the numerous other remakes flopped... umroa jaan, don etc... I know I don't want to see anyone else fill the shoes of gabbar, jai, veru, basanti etc...I have grown up knowing and believing that gabbar singh was amjad khan...I'd like to keep it that way!

Hi Guys…..

Hope you all are fine.

As we all know remake of Sholay is in process. The changes are as expected….(as what media says)

There is no village scenes..

Old Gabbar was a threat to a village..but this new Gabbar is an underworld don.

Old Gabbar was in military jacket …this new one is in stylish jackets..

Basanti is now Ghungroo (played by Nisha Kothari)

Dhanoo is now Laila

Veeru Ajay Devgan (earlier played by Dharmendra)

Jai is played by Mohit (James, Shiva hero) (earlier played by Big B)

Thakur (Sanjeev Kumar) role is played by Mohanlal (Superstar of Malayalam Movies…played C.B.I inspector in Company starring Ajay devgan and Viveik Oberoi)

Voices raised from every corner.. that Old sholay should not be remake.

So according to u all… Has Ramu( Ram Gopal Varma) done the right thing by going for a remake???

Will there be comparisons? (No doubt media will compare with its reviews, but how you will approach for it)

Can the above actors do Justice to there role?

No Doubt Big B is an institute of acting in himself, but can he justify the role? Will he be able to clear the image of Amjad Khan (old Gabbbar) and make his image as Gabbar and leave a trademark?

After seeing the promos I felt that theme might be same but it is completely different movie Ramu is using name for advance publicity?

Ramu over-estimated this time.. but he has immense talent so I am looking for ward to what he has done even if he doenst make the best of sholay...😊

So according to u all… Has Ramu( Ram Gopal Varma) done the right thing by going for a remake??? I personally think no. I doubt that the magic created in the first movie will be created again with the remake.

Will there be comparisons? (No doubt media will compare with its reviews, but how you will approach for it) Yeah of course media will compare its reviews. I think that yes i may compare it as well but let's see how it turns out to be.😊

Can the above actors do Justice to there role? I'm not sure probably Big B will do his best in the movie though i would've preferred him not doing the role of Gabbar. Ajay Devgan may be able to do the part of Veeru but i think that he would've suited more doing the role of Jai. The rest of them im not too familiar with their acting so i can't say anything but i hope they do justice to their roles.😊

No Doubt Big B is an institute of acting in himself, but can he justify the role? Will he be able to clear the image of Amjad Khan (old Gabbbar) and make his image as Gabbar and leave a trademark?

I think that maybe Big B will be able to do it though i'm not sure if he'll be able to take the place of the old Gabbar (Amjad Khan).. No, i don't think he can clear the image of Amjad Khan because the certain dialogues that Gabbar had said at that time are still remembered even today. So unless this new Sholay has some great dialogue i don't think it can take the place of the new Sholay. About the trademark..i think that Big B might have his own style of portraying the role of Gabbar and that might be a success and might not. Though, of course the old Gabbar cannot be forgotten according to me.😊

After seeing the promos I felt that theme might be same but it is completely different movie Ramu is using name for advance publicity?

Yes, maybe he's using the name of the old Sholay for publicity and i do agree that even i saw the promos and i felt it to be different from the old Sholay but anyways let's see how it turns out!😊
