Cheeni kum is the love story of 2 adults............the only problem is their age gap. And they are unmarried as well.

As for Nishabd,it was the so-called love story of an old man with his daughter's friend. By just seeing the promos n glares of AB(sorry,i dont his character name) u cld sense tht it was NOT a look of affection.
I personally think of it as immoral n unethical.

You might have seen the promos of Cheeni Kum these days!

Its a film about a 34 year lady and 64 year Gentleman! Both fall in love and decide to marry! The father of that 34 year lady is of 58 years ,younger than his son- in-law to be!!!

Saw the movie CK this evening and it was so refreshing to see a mature love story played out on hindi movie.. Movie was boring in parts but overall good to see realistic romance played out without hero/heroine day dreaming or staring at each other in awe... Even their convo was simple , no nakhras and making demands of each other.. But why they still have to have Baap become a major hurdle in the love story..!!!!

PT. Ravishanker ji married his second wife when he was almost 70 and she was in her 30s and they still are kicking and having fun 😉 😃 It all worked out for them.

After certain age, age diffence does not matter a whole lot in mature relationships.

i heard from someone who watched this movie last everning, that it was an okish movie but worth watching. i havent watched the movie yet, but nishabd to me was a hard movie to get in whereas looking at the teaser of cheeni kum it seems that its a comedy movie where an old man falls in love with a woman in mids 30s. there is much difference in the relationship of an old guy falling in love with a teenager versus old guy falling in love with mature woman. i still wonder whether stories like nishabd happen in reality. i agree with the cheeni kum story becoz i think this also happens in reality.

i dont think its a big issue neither it is common, i will go with qt and other said it all depends on how relationships are handled, it all comes with maturity, the guy is in mid 30s, so i guess its fine. now thats another story that the poor woman might have to baby sit the guy since as my married friends says guys are more than a kid 😉

View Cheeni Kum Movie StillsThere's that spark in his eyes that you see in a teenager. There's that acceptance in the way she talks and her body language when he is around her that signifies that her heart misses a beat every time he is around. He is 64 and she is 34 and they are hopelessly falling head-over-heels in love. Yes, what's age got to do with emotions of love - whether you are 60 or 20, the heart reacts in the same manner!

At least this is a believable romance, as compared to Ram Gopal Varma's NISHABD, where an 18-year-old seduces a 60-plus Amitabh. Point to note here is that the Mr Bachchan is very, very comfortable in his romantic scenes with Tabu. With Jiah Khan, there was the awkwardness that came with the huge age gap.

CHEENI KUM is a cool film laced with good humour. I would call it a mature romance between two very mature adults who know very well what they are getting into and why. It's not a situation where boy and girl want to run and marry. In fact, Amitabh has a tough time in getting Paresh Rawal (his to-be-father-in-law) to agree, who incidentally is six years younger to him! Now who would want a son-in-law that old! That's what makes this film delightful.

View Cheeni Kum Movie StillsAmitabh as Buddhadev Gupta, is eccentric in the way he deals with his restaurant staff, his mother played by Zohra Sehgal and Tabu, his love interest. Only later you grow to love his character which actually is laced with lots of love. This aspect is pried open by his one and only 'sexy', an eight-year-old neighbour who is dying of leukemia. The scenes between the two have flashes of BLACK. The maturity of the eight-year-old and the counseling sessions they have is something that is believable. And when he gets the news of her passing away just after Paresh Rawal agrees to let his daughter marry him, Amitabh is in his elements. Both emotions of elation and extreme sadness are captured well by the director and executed superbly by the graceful Bachchan. Zohra Sehgal who is witness to her son's moment of truth, too, is captured brilliantly by the camera.

Scenes to watch out for: Between Amitabh and his mother Zohra Sehgal; Amitabh and the eight-year-old; Amitabh and Tabu; Amitabh and Paresh Rawal.

There's a dash of sweetness (Tabu), the right amount of spice (Amitabh), a proper dose of lime (Paresh Rawal), perfect quantity of salt ('sexy') and tadka (provided by Zohra Sehgal). A clean entertainer which can be watched by the entire family

Ratings: 4/5

However these type of relations are not that common! Even though one has lots of maturity it some how sounds unnatural that people with this much age gap(almost 30 years) have such type of feelings!

I'm eager to watch this cheeni kum film,I liked this film music a lot, very melodious!!

Cheers,

Mythili
