Ever happen to you, you walking in thru a doot, see someone ahead of you, hold the door for you, natural reaction, Thank you

But when you walk ahead and at the next door, you hold it for the other person, and the person doesnt thank you

What is your reaction?

Suppose you do hold a door for a person multiple times in a walk, is One Thank U ok? or should there be a seperate thank u for every occurence?

What is the code of conduct on politeness?

On a side note obviosuly Dev Team beleives there should only be one thank u per thread, so obviosly they beleive in one occurence, I guess they dont beleive the responders deserve any thanks😉

Last but not the least

Is it impolite for a person not to thank?

Oh yeah BTW I am watching

# of impolite persons on IF=Number of Views - Number of Thank U's on this thread😉

BTW, avid watchers of Seinfeld know where this comes from😆

😆 😆

This happened to me yesterday, I think. I thanked the person for holding the door for me, (it's a double door)...then I held it, and I was wondering why the person didn't thank me. 😳 😆 ... esp. a guy.. lol.

Now that I think of it, it is okay. Why should I expect anything? nobody forced me to hold the door for him... neither was I asked to thank when he opened it for me. It's all good. 😳

twice- both the times it was a mall troll.. about same age early teens- busy looking like a troll and loaded with bags of shopped stuff. I told them.. "Oh BTW, You are welcome" ( one can add to grow up / learn manners / kma, depending on the situation 😛)

😆 @ Seinfeld reference.

Man that happens to me all the time...I hold doors for everyone and get no thanxs!
But sometimes there can be too much of "thankyou" going around and it annoys when there is constant thanking going back and forth...
I do that often...once some guy accidently hit the door on my face and instead of saying "excuse you"...I said "thank you" *yeah that's right I told him thanxs*...he was just like woottt 😆 Yuh I felt totally lame ...
so alwayz thank people but control the dose of thankyou's they can be too much sometimes 😆

thank you very important. there are people who hold door for me, i say thank you, sometimes i hold the door for them and i do get thank you back but how it matters is peripheral, you dont expect a thank you all the time unless sometimes, if you dont hold the door or if you try to get through the door with the next person then you would end up pushing each other so better one of you hold the door and dont expect a thank you 😆 😆 😆 oh yeah by the way no offense to anyone dont expect a thank you in a local place😕 sometimes they dont even hold doors

great thread sareg. same question comes to mind with sneezing. how often should one say "God Bless You"? with some runny noses, one might end up saying that all day long. aur koi kam naheen hai? 😛 😆

There are so many doors at my university so i know that i will have to thank someone at least once.
If i'm going down the stairs and the person infront has the door open as they see me coming then i'd have to hurry abit so as not to keep them waiting.
However, if the 2 of us strangers are going on the same route and there are 3 doors to go through then i would not repeatedly keep thanking them. They know i am thankful in the first place and nothing has changed. If the doors were quite a distance apart then i may say it again just as assurance that i am not taking your politeness for granted.

It is impolite not to Thank someone for their kindness but is it equal if someone does not Thank you, so you make a rude remark about their impoliteness? 😕

If you are sneezing all day long... othess will have say "bless me"... Its better to take claritin for the allergic rhinitis and sit in an isolation chamber at home..😆 rather than let your nose let germs fly off like some New york philharmonic orchestra...

Incidentally I sneeze in batch of 3-4... the funny part is the american sitting next to me earlier said bless you once and again and again... 😆 Now a days he waits for me to be done and then says it in a batch at once..😆
