Hi,

I know I am late with this topic….but as I say…

Late hai to latest hai….👍🏼

Recently India lost to Bangladesh, and what happened back in the country every one knows..i mean posters were burned, Dhoni's under construction house was brought down. Rallies is some cities(Kanpur, Hyderabad and few more I think).

And when Pakistan lost to Ireland same thing happened there too I even heard curfew was there in some cities(I heard this not sure).

All this things happen when India don't perform well.. what if we are not able to perform well in our own field such as if our son/daughter fails in some exam should we start bashing her. if we don't do well in our company and don't get promotion or no increase in pay should our house members do things which makes us down..

I think no one will feel to do they will simply try to boost the person and tell common be kool there is always next time..and I usually tell if god takes some thing from you that doesn't mean that god is upset but making your hands empty to give more beautiful and big thing..

So I want to ask why we react in such manner?

Are we Asians react is this manner or in other countries too.(I am not sure but I think no country will do coz all are busy in there own life).

Is it fair by telling them that you are doing endorsements that's why you are not concentrating on game or is it right to tell cut fees from the endorsements etc…?

Would we have reacted the same way if our family member was playing for nation?

Cheers,

Ahmed

yeah I think so too...
it is not only overrated but given more preference to other news & happening in the country & overseas...

cricket given more priority than humanity... millions of people die around the world but breaking news is always about cricket... some news channels dont even bother to show world news, even national news when India plays its match on that particular day.....

People forget day, night, work, responsibility & themselves when cricket bug bites them...

its not bad but to be given a general thought to...
is it that important in our lives that we ignore other important aspects in the world even crutial aspects in our lives...?

YES, Indeed!

I don't wish to take this post in another direction. but will just say something shedding light on the importance of cricket in Indian lives.
There are cases of Indian ego getting hurt with the use of racial slur, I agree with that ( AJ's bodyguard, Jade goody in recent years).
When it comes to CRICKET, we LET GO SEVERAL RACIAL REMARKS by Aussie team, caught and heard on camera umpteen number of times. Indian pride is NOT HURT then 🤢 🤢 🤢. Did we ever boycott an aussie match? Did we ever seek apology on a national level from any of the team member?? No.
That is how much CRICKET is important 😳 . It amazes me.

We are a Cricket crazy nation so it hurts when our team doesn't even put an effort on the field. That doesn't give anyone a right to destruct their property or harm their family. Violence is never a solution for anything.

Indian Cricketers are the highly paid bunch and they make more through these endorsements. Indian Coach is also the highest paid in the world. So the expectations are high and then they go around performing like a bunch of school kids playing for the first time. That is not done.

I agree that Cricket is just a game. But when two countries are battling in a tournament Cricket ceases to be just a game and becomes a pride. If it was just a game played for fun then they shouldn't accept all the perks which comes with the game. Only one team can win but the one which loses should at least show some effort on the field.

One incident I remember - When Sharad Pawar was disrespected by Aussies (if I rightly remember), there was big talk about it and they apologized.

Generally - Well on field what happens we never know our lads must be giving them back - then and there, its different thing that Aussies don't understand Hindi, in all Egos are settled. If players complains then I doubt if no action will be taken.😊

Edit - Power = Pawar😆

Re: Post
Yes - It is taken very seriously, few reasons come to mind

1. Common concises of all ages and groups atleast for this one thing in India.
2. Oppurtunity for everyone to easily gain majority for bashing/critizing 11 bakrey's.
3. Most popular game so it is ought be talked about more, media cashing on it and finally comes to rise in expectations as Maya mentioned.
4. In other sports it is assumed our dabba is gul therefore all eyes on cricket.

Though the question is not for me still wanted to say I do remember it. I saw that match and later the video of Miandad's hopping was used for the Fosters ad.
