Background: Based on normal day to day communication with people who use I, me, my , myself a lot this thought came to my mind. Usage of "I" more often in expression of views for one of a reality contestant gave an impression that person is egoist and self centered person. This was one of feedback of team member for a development manager who uses "I" very often is – this guy takes credit for everything we do, saying everything he did by saying I, I is so de-motivating lol We know the development manager who due to weak communication always starts with I think, I know, I feel, I wrong …. lol
IMO its way of expression, agree if used for self praise and proving your point by demeaning others then yes its egoist/self centered remark, otherwise it's cool.
Usage of words like I, me, my, myself very often in day to day communication portrays a self centric/egoist personality or image?
Any suggestions on how and when to use 'I' and how to avoid it, this would be great help for many of us.Thanks!
PS – LOL hope u didn't find this post self centric.. lol.. also am not in communication field as you might derive from my posting am just warming up here😊
