They can touch you, I get that but from where I come from you shut the bully by being the bully. So step up and be the man.

It is true to an extent. When you are critiquing someone to their face, there is a high probability that you know them and the reason for their displeasure. But, on the internet, as your identity is anonymous lot of people bully others for no reason which might hurt the recipient of the hate even more.

I agree. Someone will bully you from behind a screen knowing you can't do a thing about the online bullying or that they will not get any consequences for it. Thus they feel as if they are 30 feet tall after berating an unknown person over the Internet.

I disagree. Face to face bullying is often done by people you know IRL and not only can it become physical but often take more serious undertones. Not to mention, often the bullied person and offender come in frequent contact with each other due to circumstances and the bullying can go on long. Online, it's all behind a screen. No one needs to take anything personally. It's all usernames, after all.Plus, and this is the main thing, one can cut/stop the bullying anytime online [in majority of cases], which is not true for offline bullying.
