"Galwan says hi" was not just a classless, boorish statement, it was disinformation designed to make it look like Indian soldiers failed on the night of June 15th at Galwan, Ladakh. It wasn't just mindless trolling, it was a vicious gut punch to any person whose heart beats for India. It was a worthless celebrity's way of saying (in a mocking tone) - "You guys failed in Galwan, how the heck could you even speak of taking back POK?!"

In reality, even though Indian soldiers armed only with sharp edged objects compared to unorthodox weapons like nail-studded rods that the Chinese were wielding, in a hand to hand combat, were outnumbered almost 10 to 1, they fought ferociously by all accounts and inflicted significant damage on the Chinese. Of course, China would understate casualties, that's in CCP's nature to hide data, but some reports have put PLA's dead around 36. In comparison, India lost 20 brave soldiers.

Even if India had lost more soldiers and Chinese lost none, it would still be unbelievably crass and ungrateful for any Indian to mock the deadly clash that happened in Galwan. Let India's enemies do the mocking, if it were even remotely true that Indians lost that fight. But facts are that India has done admirably well, that even China and a couple of other nations were shocked by the ferocity with which Indians fought. Why twist facts to suit your agenda however deplorable that is?

Indians and well wishers of India living abroad who don't condemn this kind of behavior unconditionally ought to be ashamed of themselves. Instead we have real pieces of work like Prakash Raj who goes on record issuing idiotic statements like "Yes we stand with you @RichaChadha... we understand what you meant." Stand with what? What/how did he "understand" she "meant"?!

I know firsthand how people troll or bash army and veterans when they want. Like there were Sikh and Muslim officers who were called Khalistani or Jihadi.

An India Today journalist Shiv Aroor called General Satbir Singh all sorts of names and bashed veterans who led OROP agitation.

I remember all pseudo nationalists bashing veterans during OROP and calling them freeloaders or saying they are entitled and want too many benefits. They cheered lathi charge on veterans in OROP agitation in 2015.

May I know where was Bollywood when veterans were cane charged during OROP agitation?

Beating and abusing army or veterans is okay if ruling govt minions do it.

All hell breaks loose only if a celeb belonging to anti NDA camp tweeted about Galwan.

This is everything I could have ever said about this issue! 👍🏼

Btw, disliking the current politics doesn't mean disliking the nation...in the contrary. Far too many of those who proclaim to work for the nation, work for their own pockets or their own agendas. Yet I bet, you doesn't want to see THAT.

@bold — exactly, Richa isn’t talking about Govt. Richa quoted Army commander. She is mocking Armed forces: Which is why her patriotism is being questioned. Too hard to understand for you?

Bash Modi and abuse him. BUT, Can the “wokes” leave armed forces out in their vile disgusting hate? One should be at least grateful to the ones laying their lives down to protect the country.

Nimbu, I think that involving ME in your comment is misplaced. I've no difficulties to understand all the opinions expressed here.

As I'm not Indian, I'm more a kind of observer.

Concerning a nations army... well, its members are all kind of persons, in other words human beings with their strengths and their flaws. Therefore even the best army in the world isn't free from doing mistakes and criticism should be allowed. Patriotism doesn't mean agreeing in or loving everything that is done or said/written in the name of nation but loving to be a part of the nation.

As for the unnecessary and unfortunate tweet with which Richa reacted to what she may have perceived as misguided demonstration of force, my opinion is the one I already wrote citing blue-ice's words.

Idealism doesn’t work. When the war breaks out, none of your ideal pious pure humanity Charades come in the picture. Army personnel lay their lives down. You just seat in your luxurious houses and “observe”.

Kindly keep me away from your Ideal world. When it is established, I will take your word. For now, world is a messy place and none of your observations have any merit. Not for me.

For the reality, Army saves the normal citizen.
If they start thinking like you, when the war happens, they should just be like — I am non-violent. Why don’t you just go and attack these “ideal” citizens and let’s see their “observations”.
Then the same ideal citizens will start crying — why do we pay Army if they can’t protect us. 😆

It’s never a win win for the likes of you. Have seen enough of this. Everyone of your observations will go mute for a particular scenario. You were giving explanations for Qatar’s World Cup behavior. That shows where your wokeism lies.

Nimbu, you seem to be a person that feels the need to put other persons into boxes... I don't like to be put into a box. I like the open space where everything can happen - the good things and the ugly ones and all in-between.

You have your life-experiences and I have mine and obviously, we have rather different views...regarding things that happen in the world and regarding the way to adress another person.

I'm aware that existence is made of opposites...if there are "the likes of you" then there are also 'the likes of me'...I doubt that we both come together as 'the likes of us'...(well, actually, I have no idea who and how "the likes of you" exactly are...)

You are very right in that for liberals/progressives, the concept of borders, and by extension nations, doesn't hold much meaning. They are driven by an ideology that is more international/global in nature. This ideology is fluid and may sometimes change on a daily basis. One day it could be about a woman's rights, another day it could be about a womxn's (not a misspell, it's a "real" word now) rights and yet another day it could be about a prisoner's rights. If you subscribe to this transitional ideology without questions, good for you, you would be part of the clique and the in-crowd will let you know where to focus your activist efforts next for social change; if you question anything, anything at all, you will be outcast with extreme derision and excluded from all future participation on topics of "importance". These topics are esoteric and would have nothing to do with problems such as jobs or inflation or law and order that plague a common man. They would be about arcane subjects like "equity" or "inclusivity" which take precedence and top priority even if the whole world is on fire and on the brink of a nuclear war.

Which comes first; The chicken or the egg ? 🤣

The politics behind that question remains ... The one who thinks that they know MAY really not know.
