Yup, backlash is totally unrelated to any of this. /sarc

Edited to add: Trans people should be guaranteed the same rights as everyone else in the constitution. They have the right to live, dress, work, love, however they please under the same laws that govern everyone else. However, no one has the right to demand biological women give up their safety and security to accommodate them.

Nor should any child be ever forced to read what amounts to p**n, straight, queer, or anything in between. Trans rights do not outweigh the right of children of any sexuality or gender to grow up as children. Their innocence is for them to lose. Not for some woke idiot to steal from them.

Nor can anyone who passed male puberty be allowed in women's sports. There are separate women's women's sports for a reason. Because biological women cannot compete with biological men in a physically challenging situation. If you're going to ease that rule to accommodate trans women who have the male physical advantage, what is the point of having gender division in sports? Make it all open.

@bold

Bingo. There are wrong people on both sides (considering there are 2 sides, which I think is bullshit)

We should NOT be generalizing an entire community.

Biological women with a certain high levels of Testosterone, either naturally or through "doping" used to get disqualified and were NOT allowed to compete with average female athletes, because it was unfair to them.

Same rule should be allowed to Transwomen, because they certainly do have an unfair advantage.

I don't understand why is this even a debate. There are some incredibly talented, educated Transwomen who understand this and don't support this movement.

Thankfully, this debate has not come to India. And I pray to God it never does. I have nothing against the Trans community, they have all the right to live with dignity and liberty. But there are some areas we

Theatre is gay.

Historically, theatre and drama has always been a refuge for those who don't fit perfectly into society. The ability to engage in escapist fantasy has drawn many queer people to the theatre. Considering the higher concentration of LGBTQ folks creating and performing in show-biz - the industry has a whole has been more accepting.

If you're in the USA many universities have college courses on the queer history of theatre.

Yes, queer issues in the States are now intertwined with socialism, climate change, gun control, defund the police, immigrant issues, covid vaccines, and God knows what else from the left wing wish list. If you stray from dogma, you're ostracized.

By God! I know a couple of gay men who're thoroughly happy with capitalism and actually pack heat for protection because... you know... anti LGBTQ sentiment. Why would you (generic you) assume someone's sex life has anything to do with their opinion on the war in Ukraine I will never know.

The downside of the political binary. The USA definitely needs a multiparty system. You get assigned a side - left or right even if your views on all the other issues are different.

Even within the LGBTQ community, there are multiple rifts forming.

The money is sucked up by the 2 parties. I don't have any hope of the situation changing any time soon.
