.... But it is very imp that the journalists who are anti govt speak up because they are the only ones that will ask the questions from the govt... They are the only ones that raise the issue of the common man


So in bjp led govt, the left/congress affiliated media is very essential


... Just like when Congress was in power, the right wing media was imp and it tore them apart for their corruption.

We have lost the ability to distinguish between actual news, propaganda, and commentary. A journalist will of course have opinions and preferences but must be able to set them aside and report the facts - just as they are - whether he likes them or not. Journalists have sources not friends. You are not a journalist if you are so enmeshed with one political party that not only will a lobbyist recognize you can give them access to party leaders but you yourself recognize you can comfortably act as a go between for lobbyists even assuring them it “is not problem” for you to carry their messages to party leaders (Radia Tapes). Barkha Dutt is not a political journalist; she is a political commentator for the most part and a political propagandist on occasion.
