Are Brand Names really that important?

Is it considered being materialistic if you buy only brand named items?

Like would you rather buy $60 jeans with Dolce & Gabbana brand...or $15 look-alikes?

Do they matter?Are they ridiculous?

You Decide..

Um i usually buy stuff i like...doesnt matter if it's branded or not...
But i think some brand names have become so big that ppl are willing to pay that extra money for it....
For example, Gap, tommy girl, miss sixty, levis etc are all good brands...and quite reasonably prices aswell...i mean i would go for these labels instead of normal stuff if i had to pick...
But some brands like burberry and Dolce and gabbana are just overpriced for the heck of it...just like ferrari...i mean it's the lil horse that makes all the difference...it's quite stupid...
I think it depends on person to person....some ppl can only wear designer stuff, while some ppl wear designer and a normal stuff...while alot of ppl dont like designer wear at all...😃

i don't always go for brand names for casual wears. but i mostly prefer designer wears and popular brands for formal wears and salwars.

it's everyone's personal choice. i don't find anything wrong in that.

If you took the brand name off, lets say jeans, and put them aside normal priced jeans, will you be able to tell the difference?

The only time you can tell one is wearing designer cloths is when your advertising thier big logo's. Just go for what you like and wear it, it doesn't have to be brand names.

Brand names often have some sort of goodwill attached to them which is why people prefer purchasing their items vs. others.

Why do most people prefer a Toyota over a Ford? Its because its longer lasting. Why would I buy a jacket from Laura over something similar from Wal Mart? Because, there are more colour choices and the cloth is of a better quality.

However, there are many places where they have poor quality clothing which they stick their designer labels to. Many of Tommy Hilfiger's clothes are made in India/China/Bangladesh. If thats the case, I will go to India and buy the same thing directly from there at a cheaper price and even get more choices besides the standard Red, white and blue that Tommy provides!

Most of the time, we pay outrageous amounts for a brand name and do not look at quality!

I'd look at the cloth quality before purchasing any piece of clothing - Designer or not. Same goes for cars, sunglasses, and the like.

im starting to think that it doesnt really matter if its 100% authentic or fake, because i brought a gucci handbag which cost me over 300 and no one belived me its real. i was so annoyed. once i had to take my jeans off so i can show some ideots the label. everything is fake in the city wher i live so its no point paying so much for an item coz no one will believe u its real.
