There are Kashmiris in Indian army and police. Sometimes some of them can act as moles. Indian army has to face a double edged sword here. They need them. They act as local informers. At the same time, they cannot totally trust them. If they don't trust them fully, there will be accusation of human right violation.
Recently a Kashmiri soldier Aurangzeb was posthumously honoured with Shaurya Chakra from India. He was a buddy to Major Shukla. Major Shukla has killed the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen top commander Sameer Tiger.
Aurangzeb got murdered while visiting his family. Army suspected three people within the army itself who could have been informers to militants. It interrogated them and their family, which included the brother of one of the suspects ( Tawseef Ahmad Wani, 27). What happened next?
Wani got admitted to the hospital. He has accused the army of torturing him. As per him, Major Shukla threatened him and said, "Pose with a gun and post the photograph by tomorrow; if not, I will kill you in an encounter in the coming days.
I saw Wani's photograph. Surely there is a sign of torture. But the narration was not convincing. What will an army major gain if a civilian poses with a gun?
But for the Kashmiri media, this inconvenient question will not sell. So they all went with the headlines "Civilian tortured brutally by the army". This title rises the passion in Kashmiris and rise their hatred against India. These (Kashmiri) media demanded the probe into the torture and transfer of Major Shulka.
See, how this narration is so convenient for Hizb. They can get rid of a major obstacle with this narration. (Meanwhile the suspect, Wani's brother who was serving in the army is still missing).
On the other hand, militants are not bound by any human rights.
Recently Indian Army killed an Al-Badr commander Zeenat-ul-Islam. Militants suspected his 25 year old cousin sister (Ishrat Muneer) might have informed the army. (There is no evidence, as the villagers and her family said, why will a sister inform police. Nevertheless..). That girl got abducted when she was going to computer class, shot twice point blank, when she was folding her hands for mercy. They videoed the shoot and circulated in social media. Just ISIS style. Kashmir leaders took more than a day to condemn this cold blooded the event. Hurriyat remained silent.
Fact remains, people who got killed from both sides (Aurangzeb, Sameer Tiger, Zeenat-ul-Islam and Ishrat) are all Kashmiris. Kashmir is paying heavy price for the violent route it has chosen. But no one dares to condemn it openly because of fear (they will be shot dead).
True, there will be casualties in Indian side too (like yesterday). But India can sustain. But Kashmir has lost much much more in this futile violence.
Yesterday 40 Indian soldiers have been killed. This is Kashmiris reaction.

I admire the restraint of forces, when youth pelted stones at that time. What if they had opened guns in the rage?

Meanwhile (yesterday), Hurriyat leaders were busy paying tributes to two militants who got killed in Budgam the previous day (who did not have any tear for Ishrat or the Indian soldiers). All these Kashmiri leaders have been provided security cover from Indian government. All they do is celebrating the deaths. (If it happens from Kashmir side, they honour them as martyrs. If it happens from Indian side they say, it is paying price for occupancy). Both times, they are left untouched. I just want India to take back its protection cover on them and let them get killed by "unknown people".
