Feminism does not list sindoor, mangalsutra, last name etc as tools of oppression. This is a misconception.
Feminism is more about equality and free will. Anything forced upon a woman is a tool of oppression. Anything chosen by a woman of her own free will is not oppression.

Now there are certain choices presented to women but not to men. Women have to make some decisions on things men don't even think off. There is a sense of imbalance and inequality with that. It is a tricky situation because eliminating choices is a form of oppression too. But I think over time some of the disparity between male and female choices will change.

I think the existence between a man and a woman has always been about balance. This world needs both men and women, otherwise the world will not be able to revolve. We have always been thought that a man is higher place in society. It is not against feminism, it is just the patriarchal society that we were raised in. Most of our societies itself is a patriarchal ones. We need to start teaching our sons and educating them to respect women. Also the fact that a girl baby is not a burden but a treasure.

😆yeah sure, so what we got next?😛. Burkha-clad women you'll call feminists because they might be wearing all that clothing out of their free will?😆

the flaw with your and other arguments here is that when women are brainwashed, they'll happily do things that in an absolute world would be oppression. Just because the woman does not see it as oppression does not mean it's not. You need to have a higher standard for feminism than just one where the woman (say in a backward society) does not know or feel she is being oppressed.

and by the way, free will is hard to measure. A woman wearing burkha might well be wearing all that gear out of her free will... but in reality it might be because the alternatives suck. Not wearing it might make her husband/ father/ brother unhappy... even if they dont beat her. She might do it to keep the family together and sees it as the best course of action given other options... yeah, she has free will, but how free?

the real test is to see what free will the woman would come up with if she were to live in a truly emancipated society. You cant take cuckoo behavior and norms and say that it's feminism even if the woman thinks she's is doing it out of sheer joy and free will. Just like morality, you cant be coming up with personal versions of feminism😆 Hope folks get the big picture now.😉

As I said earlier the concept of "Feminism" has become skewed.
People think,
(Oh she is a working woman even after marraige, then she is a feminist .Oh, she is a housewife, poor thing, She is bound by Patriachy so she isn't a feminist.)
These are Assumptions .People have become confused regarding What is feminism .
As I said earlier, Every women shud prioritise herself... Her self respect more than anything else.
Feminism is about men and women being treated equally .it's about every women having the choice to do what she wants without being bullied or coaxed into doing something else.
Feminism is not about degrading men or hating them.
It's about teaching your sons to Not objectify women, instead of teaching daughters to wear "decent" clothes.
Feminism is about telling everyone, let's treat both genders equally

😆 now this is getting farcical. Look i feel for housewives the world over. They work hard, they make the home, they raise the kids, they deserve a lot... But please, let's not be putting wrong labels, and making what housewives do as feminism. A housewife is what a housewife does. A feminist is what a feminist does. A housewife might moonlight as a feminist in her spare time but being a housewife (even if out of her own free will) does not qualify a woman as a feminist. And vice versa.😊

Feminism at its basic core is about equality of genders and opportunities, except the project doesn't end there. We've already achieved that in the developed world, women have all the rights and opportunities that men do, the system is not preventing anyone from succeeding. The problem though, is that feminists today aren't happy with equality of opportunity, they want equality of outcome, because there are gaps between the sexes, like the pay gap, which they believe is completely down to sexism, even though there are a myriad of variables that explains this gap, which has nothing to do with sexism. So now, wherever there is a gap between the sexes, especially where men are disproportionately over-represented, the reason is always sexism, and the answer is quotas/reservation/affirmative action.

Also, feminism means different things to different people, it's like religion, people make of it what what they will. Feminism has also bred misandry, ant-male hatred, you may claim these aren't real feminist, but they are, feminism isn't just about equality, it's also about ideology, politics, tribalism.

In my own opinion (key word), the foundation of feminism is this: being able to choose. The core of anti-feminism is, conversely, telling a woman she can't do something solely because she's a woman.
taking any choice away from her specifically because of her gender.
