does people get confused with the meaning of this word

Feminism is not insulting any other gender. In a world like our's , where women still don't have a say and are treated like second class citizens. I think any woman can tell you that they have been treated differently sometime or the other in their lives. I, for one, come across it daily . I see my subordinates feeling superior to me , my clients not taking me as seriously until I show them who I am. It's not like I have ever gotten any position as a result of me being a woman , then how can they believe that my talent is any less than theirs. this is just one such example , world is full of such examples and even worse.

So if there is a systematic discrimination against women , I don't see why women shouldn't not stand up to it. I don't see why we shouldn't preach feminism. It's just standing up for our rights and at times, for rights of fellow women.

I don't really get your question. Is it how does one define it or is it about , is feminism insulting other gender and if it is justified.

There are some feminists who do preach always male hatred. There are other genuine feminists who are genuinely interested in helping women and showing their latent powers and capabilities. I strongly believe feminists have to work such that women are encouraged to make impact in this male-dominated World.And God has given capability for women to do so and not be dependent on men for their own welfare.

but many women are making an impact. Not all women are going to do it , after all not all men make an impact in a male dominated world

I don't know what is the exact significance of the word feminism is but I feel women need to learn how to stand for themselves and also for their fellow women .. Its equally important for women to stand by their colleagues, friends at the time of need ...

Unity between women in general is something I feel is highly missing among women unlike men in today's society...

Feminism means promoting gender equality. Years of patriarchy has created unbalanced perceptions of men and women. Feminism seeks to end that.

Feminism is not about elevating women above men or hating men. Some feminists need to understand that better. At the same time many people misunderstand feminism too.
