Again opens a debate over gun control, which will only remain a debate in US..come what may.

You know I was wondering exactly about that - so please clarify for my understanding.. How does the process work? - Walk into a shop selling guns , pay money, give your ID number (for tracking purpose).. and just buy one?

London , mostly is very accepting. UK overall. I think, because we are in number, shared history and also we make a big political vote now.
Any country where the minority immigrant population becomes a political equity will feel more accepting.

What you say is true. At the end of the day.. anywhere and in any situation (be it country or kitchen or a playground)...the ones with power will always be 'respected'

However, surprisingly my encounters with Europeans (english included) have been not so great.. Once I remember, we were at some conference.. and two french women just got up and left the table as soon as two Malaysians joined them for dinner

Many such examples..

Here is http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/06/20/how-to-legally-buy-a-gun-in-the-united-states/29034879/

They are suppose to run a background but well loopholes, corruption and easy procurement. Most cases, it's hand-me-down guns.

Yes, personal experiences wary. But Europe now and france especially since last few years has seen the emergence of Far-right especially after Syria. Refugees, you know how many are there in France ready to shift or get an entry..
I am sure such experiences will be in UK. But again, increase the polity equity then only you can have a proper assimilation.

For him to end his life and professors probably means it would have been so much more than just career being over...

He had a kill list. He succeeded in killing two. One on the kill list was on vacation.

Nobody understands anger more than me 😆 but this guy is clearly touched in his head to go on a rampage like that. If he had kept it between him and the professor, then it is somewhat understandable (not excusable but understandable), but why the others?

Q: Do you feel like second class citizens if you are living outside of your country (from wherever, to wherever)? Do you feel genuinely accepted?

if this question is posed with the above context as the backdrop, it is not a valid question. I don't see a racial motivation behind the professor screwing this guy (assuming he did screw the guy); there are other Indians too working under him.

If it s a general question, IMO, we are all discriminated at one point in time or other regardless of where we reside based on language accent, looks, color, weight, height, how wealthy or poor one is perceived as, etc.

Sigh. It is so difficult to understand Cultural appropriation at times.

I am hesitant to tag the UCLA shooting as a Professor acting unfavorably to an "Indian" rather than a "professional conflict" with a "student".
There is a lot of politics in Graduate & Doctoral programs. There is a lot of politics in research. There are unscrupulous professors and advisors. There are lecherous professors and advisors. All students bear the brunt. Sometimes it is just a professional conflict. There is disagreement on who owns what and who gets credit for what. There are many disgruntled students who believe professors or coworkers stole their work. They all do not go shooting people. It is a purely mental health issue.

I have never felt like a second class citizen. Either i have been lucky or I have been blind to the bias. There are microaggressions I do experience as an Indian. Microaggressions are a result of ignorance not malice though. They do not bother me the same way as it does other people.

In my very narrow world view

My POC Experience in USA > My Female Experience in India X 10

Assuming you want to say that your POC experience in USA is ten times better than your female experience in India, the correct expression would be

My Female Experience in India < 10 * My POC Experience in USA

Think about it. If you multiply your "female experience in India", it will only make it worse. Your original view is that your POC experience in USA is anyway better than your female experience in India, so you wouldn't be multiplying your female experience in India to make it worse.

Sorry! I would divide the right hand side by 10

My Female Experience in India < (My POC Experience in USA) / 10

No Clue. Could be a typo for PIO?

BUS is different . I was reading on cultural appropriation and the divide between the dominant race ( the one which has wielded cultural and social supremacy) over the repressed one , it is too stark which is such a contradiction when the country is made of migrants .

Snopp Dogg recently criticized the show "Roots" saying that again , it's the same story of slaves and well thats what they use to sell the black story. He asked for it's boycott. Now, I kind of agree with his context but boycotted is silly too, and then this show is giving employment to many black people .
But it got be thinking about hard it must be to live with people or a race which has exploited you and in many still does.
