Precisely, Aum in Yoga is spiritual. It is said to be the sound of the universe. Chanting "Aum" during practice is said to align the mind, body and spirit with the universe. It isn't religious at all.

I see people of all races, religions and ethnicities chant Aum in their yoga class. I don't see why some people have a problem with it. They always have the option of skipping the chant.

Personally, Aum works wonders. I don't know if its a case of self fulfillment, blind faith or power of Aum - but after having been warned for high BP - meditating chanting Aum has helped control it.

Yoga is great way of staying calm and physically fit
and om is way of pure meditation
in any terms om has no relation with any religion
its just pure soothing sound
i don't think there should be any problem to anyone
