Fifty Shades Of Grey is really a disappointing concept. I have read abt d book in reviews. It promotes rape, stalking, controlling, physical abuse, mental abuse n wat not. It shows dat women loves guys who spanks them even for rolling their eyes. Women will think dat its romantic wen a man beats n tortures her, isolates her 4m his friends, makes her leave her job, treats her like a child n wat not. Its abt encouraging women to be a doormat n accept all d abuse 4m ur men. Many people in all d countries r against dis movie of women degradation. On top of dat, dis movie is released on Valentine's Week. People like Christian Grey sud rot in jail. He is a rapist n abuser. Do u think dis movie sud be promoted in any part of d world not just India?

If a woman is doing it all with consent, why the heck not. Her choice, her body and her right.

P.S: And I roll my eyes at the casual use of "rape" or "rapist". What an awesome trend.

If a bunch of women made it bestselling book then what can be done to stop the film?

I find the consent thing so funny. Consent? Who gives consent for abuse? And don't forget consent can be extracted under duress too.

Sometimes girls are not far sighted. There's an incident where girl gave consent when BF suggested they copy 50 shades stuff but started howling in pain when the guy started. She asked him to stop but he did not. Now she's claimed she was raped while boy claims they just copied the film.

I don't think such concepts should be promoted.

What if girl consents merely due to film but after she realise what it actually feels like, she wants it to stop and feels abused?

Oh and not all men are bothered about consent. Risky if they copy such acts or assume women like it and get tempted to try it out themselves.

I know wat u meant to say. po*n always existed. But its FSOG cuz of which BDSM thing is more exposed to d world to d people who did not even had a slight knowledge abt it. In India, there came an article wen d books were released n in dat articles words like spanking, flogging, riding crop, sadomasochism were used. In India, those words r used rarely in newspapers. So, people explored it more n more. I think dis is 1st BDSM movie to be released in India but it can never happen cuz of Censor Board. But people already came to know a lot abt it n will defo watch on net. Now, Indians will blame d rape n assault on d movie n western culture will be again blamed. But there is no blaming n excuse for d rapists cuz its they who had done d crime. Even couples who r in a relationship or r married will want to try all dis. D way d content of d books n movie r shown luks like its okay for a man to abuse a woman as it will only lead to romance. People who r abused in childhood will bcum like Grey n abuse women n blame it on their childhood. I am disgusted dat dis piece of crap is written by a woman herself. Dats why, I don't think FSOF books n movie sud be promoted. It will only brainwash women into being submissive n accept d abuses.

OK.Read its summary on Wikipedia just now.Thank you.
This is really weird.A girl has crush on a guy who just wants a concubine, and that too to realize his bdsm fantasies.Really weird in this age.Nothing in the story. No one is going to gain anything by watching the film.Is it sort of mainstream feature length po*n movie?
I would be pleased if the movie is banned..for the reasons stated by TM.
Not sure if its fair to ban it though.. movies like these have been released before.

With that logic, movies or books displaying criminals and their journey, which may include their childhood hardship and struggle, should be banned as well cuz clearly people have hard time reading into fiction vs reality. OK.

BDSM is very much prevalent and entertained by many couples around the world. It is a consensual practice, which includes one partner to be dominant and the other submissive. How does this become a gender issue ? Grey himself was a sub to a "woman". So all this women nonsense is nothing but BS. And you're saying women are that gullible to be brainwashed ? Do they not have enough brain cells to take the required decisions for themselves ? And if men are playing the role of submissive, are they just as brainwashed for the supposedly "abuse" ? OK.

Any kind/type of Freedom of expression is ok, unless and until it doesn't hurt a group of people and play with their sentiments or lifestyle or social atmosphere .

I am not going for what happens in West or what their value systems are... they are they... but we the south asians.. do have values and sure there are certain things that are unacceptable by the society...but if this "new" century promotes such acts then are we going to compromise in this way by saying "O.. this is freedom!" No way!...Freedom of expression can never be absolute its impractical and would just result in lack of control in society...The same rule applies in Media, country policies, as a law... to keep people say their word but within the moral code of conduct... the morals the value system should remain intact... We can't let people break the boundaries and limits as sometime a particular act might result in destruction..Personally I am still in the favor to show kissing or making love as symbolic like by two flowers touching etc😊

The use of the word "rape" should not be taken likely. So tell me have you actually read the book? Do you understand the content of the book?

And I wonder how does such a book sell 450 million copies, what really sells? sex?
