Dont you think you're being a bit harsh by bracketting Hrithik and ABhishek with (non) actors Dino and Riteish😕

AFter Koi Mil Gaya,Lakshya and Fiza,Hrithik surely cant be bracketted with C and B grade actors...Ditto for Abhi....AFter Yuva,Sarkarr and KANk,he truly deserves to be with the A list actors,but on the lowest rung of the ladder in the A list😛(That would render his appreciation and RAting to be of the rightly deserved amount and not an overhype)

well, watch Dhoom2 and you would say "Oh duck, Abhishek surely is overrated while Hritik is under rated".

and to me one actor who is 'highly over rated's Koele ki Khan 😡

Agreed,in the movue,the two stars werent pitted against each other,but when they share the same screen space,and when one actor clearly overshadows the other in every aspect(look,style,acting,screen presence etc),wouldnt it be fair and just natural human tendency to pronounce who was better....

You do not rate actors after one or two good movies, same mistake was made about Jackiedada and Mithunda, do you know how a whole generation got tortured for that mistake😉?

Mithun and Jackiedada got chance becoz there was no one to fill the space left by Big. B. Here the story is different. Dino, Ritesh(no sure about John) can never be A list actors in presence of HR, Khans, AB Junior.

HR and KK were unbearable in MPKDH,COuldnt sit through the entire movie,HR's performance was so jarring and loud,ABhi's subdued performance was far better...BUT,No one cut him any slack,his performance was ripped to shreds my the media and was almost said to be "FINISHED"...WHy cut ABhi all slack this time when he delivers a insipid performance(albeit Abhi wasnt as bad as HR was in MPKDH)...Excuses galore...ABhi was fat because he put on weight for his Movie Guru,ABhi was sporting a beard because he had to for KANK...Heap all the flak,Why go too linient on ABhi😕.....And no one calls HR the "Next Big Superstar",He's at the most called a "good actor,fantastic dancer"😊

Tables have turned in Dhoom,and its the exact opposite of MPKDH...

A "superstar" is one who shouldnt be dwarfed by other actors...When AB was reigning,we didnt have Dharmendra and Sashi KApoor (or was it Shammi KApoor😕..who was the guy who always used to play the sidekick to AB in movies like Zanjeer,Trishul etc...)overshadowing him....A superstar is ONE who carries movies solely on his shoulders,all of ABhi's hits have been multistarrers(KANk,Dhoom) or movies which cashed in on his equation with his legendary father(Sarkarr,B&B)..He's yet to deliver a solo hit without his father...And ABhi's performances arent consistent either...He was brilliant in Yuva and Sarkarr,OK in Dhoom,good in B&B,Mediocre in Dus,Bluffmaster,Umrao Jaan,DHoom 2 and is yet to deliver a solo hit...Despite all this,he is called the next superstar and is voted Asia's sexiest,where there are so many men who look better than him....Why this much of hype for Ab's baby😕

It might predate AB vs. Shatrughan Sinha and Vinod Khanna era. The notion that Rajesh Khanna's superstardom ended because AB was better in Namak Haram is false. RK was an actor with limited potential and he peaked and unpeaked within 5 years. I do not buy comparisons like Dilip Kumar was beeter than AB in Shakti; Madhuri was better than Ash in Devdaas etc. etc. Actors are not supposed to cancel each other out but to complement each other so the collective is larger than the sum of individuals. That is why it always fun to watch Naseer and OM togather.
2, There is something to be said for understated performances -an assette largely undervalued in Bollywood. Actors like William Macy, Kevin Spacey or Gary Oldman would be forgotten in Bollywood within couple of years where as Bill Macy is one of my all time favorite actors. If you were to compare all the mute characters in Bollywood, Thre best were AB in Reshma or Shera, and Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bhaduri in Koshish...all three undderstated. They have been some of the the best actors in last 50 years.
Villainous roles are typically more flambouyant and there for more entertaining. That is why Manoj Bajpayee is still best known for his turn as Bhikhu Matre. I am sure Jr. B plays the striaght and narrow character he did in the first movie. May be he is pale and lame but appreciateing understated role is also an art.

What you say makes perfect sense. Coming out of Dhoom2, without comparing the movie charecters, even if you see at HR and Abhi as individual actors, I think HR is way ahead of Jr. B. Abhi is still in the process of shaping his career while HR has already secured his position, though they entered same time. Till 2006 release, HR has done 13 movies while Abhi has done 27(excluding his special appearances in LRMB, Ek Ajnabee, Rakht, Salaam namaste, Humtum, Neel-n-Nikki, Home delivery which make it 34). No doubt of he fact that AB Jr. acts well(though took longer to prove himself, thanks to his family name), but to be a complete actor he need to be more competent.
