I am reading Candide now and am at the point where Candide meets Lady Cunengunde again after presuming she is dead.Let's see how the story progresses.
About Persuasion( not Pursuasion😊) here is the link to the e-book if anyone is interested.

I don't think its a tragedy. As per Wiki,Sardonic in outlook, it follows the nave protagonist Candide from his first exposure to the precept that "all is for the best in this, the best of all possible worlds," and on through a series of adventures that dramatically disprove that precept even as the protagonist clings to it.
So its a journey of Candide which shakes his optimistic belief but then restores it back again.

Mankind suffers significantly if they do not use this wonderful concept inbuilt in them ....ie of revising the translations of concept every five some years ... It is like reading our own diary after a lull ... dont we see how silly we were back then?😛

Raksha ji ,,,, whenever a book is translated some essence is lost .. this is the case with Candide as well . As Tania puts it it is about all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds ... a phrase that stuck in my mind when I read this novel a while back .
