Books impact my life daily on different levels. Some have been Sidharta by Herman Hesse; Puala by Isabel Allende; Man's Search for Meaning-Viktor Frnankel; Hamlet-Shakespeare; Age of Innocence-Edith Wharton; Dirty Hands-Sartre and many more. Sidharta is good for people seeking how to detach from desire; Puala for a Mother or a love one watching a love one die; Man's Search for Meaning-what happens in war camps and how courage and mind over matter rules the day; Hamlet for its punchy dialogues and monologues; Age of Innocence for its 1900s American life scenarios.

well i am a bookworm .and the book which caused the most impact was 'Mulberry and Peach'by Hauling Nieh.. it just told you how hard life actually was which we never realised.. i actually cried after reading it.. it was a very nice book.. very emotional.. how mulberry changes into peach..it was very sah how times force us to do things.. and yes boooks do create an impact on us.. because it broadens our thinking.. and sometimes it makes us realise that we do care

Do you read books ?

Yes, they are now my second best friends....first being IF of course....😆

Some of my favs:

'The Prophet ' by Khalid Gibran

The Far Pavillions - M.M Kaye

If tomorrow comes - Sidney Sheldon

The Bourne Identity - Robert Ludlum

Doctors - Eric Seghal

The Exodus and Mila 18 - Leon uris

Anthem and The Fountainhead - Ann Ryand

Did any book change your life?

Yes, Khalid Gibran's 'The Prophet'. It made me a better, and a more mature person, and it actually helped me raise myself above some of the everyday petty problems that every relationship faces. Not all, but some definitely.

Did any book save you from problems?

Howard Roarke, of the Fountainhead by Ann Ryand, helped me solve the identity crisis in my life.......that book taught me that being yourself and being proud of what you are is your greatest identity.

Did any book help you in removing your confusions or did it add much more confusion?

Not really.......some of the books have made me more introspective though. They can also give out mixed messages. However I have also been greatly impressed by the relationships portrayed in all the Robert Ludlums books. That man placed so much stress on loyalty, and trust between friends and family..........that it helped me see a lot of strength in togetherness of a family.

or Do you say we read books but we don't take the content seriously?

yes, that actually happens with most of the books. Preachy books can actually turn you off. Thrillers are good while they last. Da Vinci code was a surprise, but it was more interesting because it gave a different twist to a religion and gave us a more broader perspective......for me, Da Vinci code had a very tame end...

'The Sinner' by Madeline Hunter. That was one sick book!! The romance and the details in that book was so nice, I loved it. I didn't belive in love as much, but after reading that book I realized that a woman/ girl can't live without love.

I had missed a lot of them. Remember their authors partially or remember the names partially.

But if you are a fan of beautiful writing, kindly do not miss Ron Rash and "Saints at the River"

Rgds,

now i see where the beautiful flow of words and thoughts come from 😛 i wish i could devote some time for books but. there r other things that catch my eye but i always wonder how do u guys accomodate the time for books... i mean a career , a family and fun leaves no time for me...

maybe early retirement can help me😆
