Lol... See, its perseverence that makes a man perfect. This is exactly what happened to me... 😳 Before marriage, my rotis too used to go out of shape, kabhi Australi map toh kabhi India map... 😉 My mom used to make superb rotis, so used to just see and notice the way she used to do it .....

So after marriage, it was totally on my head to make Rotis.. In the beginning, i too used to make all shapes . But, practice makes man perfect!!! Since we have a habit of eating rotis very frequently, i just made it a point not to sulk and keep trying till i make the best rotis.... 😳

Basic things you have to remember while making Rotis:

  1. The most important thing behind making good rotis is you need to make the proper dough... The dough needs to be soft and not too hard. The dough needs to be beaten enough, so that the rotis are soft and taste good...
  2. Make the batter into medium sized balls, (to suit your tava size), mix it with little bit of dry flour, then knead it very gently...
  3. While kneading, do not put much pressure in the centre, you need to work the sides and not at the centre. Keep turning the made rotis and knead it from all sides, giving more of emphasis to the edge and not the centre...
  4. You need to knead from the place where you probably think that the shape is going out of hands, correct it to a perfect round as and when you knead it....

Hope this has not gone above all your heads!!!😆

this is the reason why my rotis are always having a hole in the center when cooked 😭 ok.. next time only sides. no center... 😊

thanks sree 😃 ....i think Ms. BB will thank u too... 😉

Ya, this is where most of us go wrong, we tend to exert more pressure on the centre, and we only end up making rotis that tear in the process of being put on the tava... 😆

Why Roti's are round 🤔 becoz they look aesthetically good 😃 .

I too make round Roti's only 😳 ! Not only that I also knead the dough well too.

At the cost of being labelled a braggart 😆 I will still say that I made round roti's even after a year. I guess I am gifted! 😉

For good round roti's you need well knead dough.
Try to keep your hand as light as you can think of applying feather pressure. Of course most of the times more pressure is applied on the centre and that spoils the shape.
