It's one among the worst shameful incidents that happens to girl kids,
There's not much of preventives in this case, Every school bus 's route should be tracked through a gps. A woman teacher, staff or school helps should always be present in the bus, which happens in south india. But even with all this, incidents do happen. Which should be punished severely by the law and justice, thus creating a fear among them.

Well there's only very little young girls can do when it comes to self defense. Some precautions might help older children but little ones are just helpless

All this exists because of patriarchal culture and society that supports it.The mindset of the people should change.Education is the key.Boys and girls should be raised without any sex discrimination and should be taught to respect each other at a very young age. Also severe punishments should be given..Of course all this won't happen in a fortnight, but this is only the ultimate solution

Child abuse is very dangerous, my humble request to all parents is .Pls take these points, be aware of all such cases and protect your children from vultures of the society .Save your children from perverts. Always make your child brave to protest and tell everything to you without feeling shameful . That is the most important thing to remember by every responsible parent .
Another thing, it is not just the responsibility of parents but the community as a whole.
Do not leave your children with your relatives for long time.

This Issue needs more details and comprehensive hints for parents The subject is definitely useful for the society. Parents of young children should be careful and try to get as much information on the subject as possible and try to educate children. Parents should also be extra careful about their children of tender age.Keeping a watch on the child is the singular most important thing.

Guidance of parents to the kids are very essential. The observation of parents on kids are more essential than anything else.

With increasing reports of child abuse, parents need to take a few elementary precautions and safeguard kids from becoming victims. And if anything unfortunate occurs, it is always better to spot the abuse symptoms at the earliest and put the child at ease.

The parents must teach the child to create an alarm and run away from the place. If such an incident happens, say in school, then school authorities have to be informed.

It is always safe to stick to the golden rule of not letting children talk to strangers!

Lack of communication is the biggest drawback. The most crucial thing is to win a child's trust. So parents must take the effort to communicate in such a reassuring manner that the child feels comfortable to talk about everything.

Sexual abuse during childhood can scar an individual for life in many ways. Take precautions when children are around two years old and start going to play school,

Children who have been sexually abused may react in various ways. Some become withdrawn, while others are very emotional and may act out. It is important to be patient and always believe in your child.

Need to know the abuse was not their fault and they did nothing wrong An immense amount of support and affection -needed to that kid .Emergency aid should be provided ,when need is there , relating to the trauma of sexual abuse .

We have to strengthen families ...we have to educate the parents and kids esp .in rural areas ...about this menace and bring awareness there !

5 Tips to Protect Your Child From Sexual Abuse

The following five safety tips from RAINN focus on practical things parents can do to protect children from sexual abuse.

1. Talk.
Talk often with your child and set a tone of openness. Talking openly and directly will let your child know that it's okay to talk to you when they have questions. If your child comes to you with concerns or questions, make time to listen and talk to them.

2. Teach.
Teach your child key safety principles. For instance:

Teach children the names of their body parts so that they have the language to ask questions and express concerns about those body parts.
If your child is uncomfortable or if someone is touching them, s/he should
tell a trusted adult immediately.
Let your children know that if someone is touching them or talking to
them in ways that make them uncomfortable that it shouldn't stay a secret.
3. Empower.
Your child should know that s/he has the right* *to* *speak up if they are uncomfortable, or if someone is touching them. It's okay to say "no" even to adults they know and family members.

4. Implement.
Implement Internet safety protocols, and parental controls through platforms such as the Google Family Safety Center. Work with older children to set guidelines for who they can talk to online, and what information can be shared. For instance, be cautious when leaving status or away messages online and when using the "check-in" feature on Facebook or Foursquare.

5. Educate.
Educate yourself about the warning signs of childhood sexual abuse. Know what to look for, and the best way to respond.

It is so sad to hear that and reading your post is churning my stomach.when kids go to sleepover,it is always good parents also plan a sleep over instead of sending the kids by themselves .Statistics show most of these things happen to kids by known people around them.Talk to your kids every day about there day.it is so sad😕

There are rules that a teacher should be the last person to get down from a school bus that is after the last child has been dropped. Why did that rule get broken? How many times do such rules get broken? what do we do when we notice them getting broken?
Dont we call people who are stickler for rules as Hitler , bossy etc
As a society we contribute by getting our priorities all mixed up.
People think nothing of taking unplanned leaves, absenteism without making any alternative replacement to handle their responsibilities. It could be for mundane excuses like attending any social event like a birthday party, a wedding, or even a funeral. People even take pride at their loyalty towards their friends or relatives that by attending their function inspite of their duty they did them a great favour! These events always seem to take priority over duties. Unfortunately such behaviour gets appreciated . As long as this mentality continues rules will continue to be broken with impunity and such mishaps will persist.

The solution starts with a rapist hanging from a rope with no chair underneath. That is step 1.
Step 2 is rule of law and policing where such people have fear of doing such an act and getting caught
There is responsibility of school to monitor who they are hiring and provide security.
None of it will provide 100 percent safety. However i think the first 2 steps are critical in preventive crimes against women and kids. Without punishment you will not go anywhere

Fully agree with you my friend ! Crime and Punishment should always be at par ! This is my strong belief ! Certain crimes are unpardonable !

How could a little girl defending herself ?

A kid won't even know if there is danger there.. Unfortunately you can't leave the kids alone, need someone whom you can trust to take care and send/pick her up from school.. Too many lunatics around the world..

At least you can install security camera in the house, but in the bus, I can't see any safety measure can be taken unless there is an adult with her..
