Plenty of ways, depends on which position you want to fill in as.

BGF usually takes candidates who have degrees in International relations, marketing or economics from top universities. Paywise, BGF is good, but also depends on which location you are applying.

3. Sustainability courses ? - what all courses have good prospects? - someone mentioned urban planning... any views on this? ( also, if there is sthg else plz let know)

I still feel traditional courses rules the roost. But hit me up with specific sectors, would let you know.

4. Economics- does it make sense after MBA? - again with the perspective of joining world bank or sthg of the sorts..

If MBA done from a good place, World Bank is easier to get into . Mostly , MBAers apply for Ibanks though.

5. The exam route doesn't work because of 2 years gap between exams and country eligibility.. plus offers a lower position

They do pay pretty less for lower positions.
