Sania who are who to say whether someone is a Muslim or not? If one goes by your logic then 99.99% of muslims in this world would be termed non-muslims, no-one follows a religion in copy-book fashion not even the priests, swamis or Maulvis.

Chodo yaar....You're flogging a dead horse....People do not wish to debate with an open mind,and every bit of what you or any other person says seems to fall on deaf ears...So forget it,anyways,I dont think Non Indians are entitled to sit judgmental on this issue...There are so many liberal indian muslims who have absolutely no qualms in reciting the Vande Mataram,certain fringe elements would always put their foot down,but couldnt care less about those...Those who think that the sanctity of Islam is belittled if one sings the Vande Mataram,then i reckon they're barking up the wrong tree🤢

SURAT: "No Muslim can sing 'Vande Mataram' if he considers himself to be a true believer," said Maulana Mahmood Madani, general secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, New Delhi, during his visit to the city on Tuesday. Madani also accused the Gujarat government of not providing support to Muslim educational trusts in the state.

Madani said, "Any Muslim singing 'Vande Mataram' will not be considered a Muslim."

According to Madani, all madrasas and minority institutions will follow the instructions and will not participate in the singing. "Muslims don't have a problem if it is voluntary, but some political parties are insisting on making it compulsory, which is objectionable," said Madani. "Political parties are raising the issue and creating a controversy for vested interests", he added.

Doesn't what he say (in bold) is contradictory, first he says that any Muslim singing VM is not a Muslim then he says Muslims don't have any problem if it is voluntary.😕

I can't understand Indian media's muted reaction to this controversy, why are they shying away from the issue, why do they soft-peddle minority community related issues?

👏👏👏 Naqvi spoke exactly what most of the indian muslims feel. some of these fanatic clergies leave no chance to issue fatwas on middle class and poor but when it comes to rich they have no voice. so many famous muslim households brought home ganpati. i didn't see anyone calling them mushrik but if one sings a patriotic song then they will be branded mushriks. strange!!

i know my muslim friends consider themselves indians first and muslims after that.

Without bringing religion in the matter, I strongly believe that those who have problem with 'vande maratam', a song that almost became India's Anthem, should migrate to a country with all their fellow idologues to a country where they would not be asked to recite it.
