Unfortunately, some mothers that I know who have girls with dark skin back home encourage them to get gold-facials (those whitening ones) regularly, so that their skin becomes a lighter shade. It's just sad. I think I will teach my daughter (if she has dark skin) that a guy who thinks she is attractive even when her skin is dark is one who will love her no matter what. But yay for the Dark is Beautiful campaign. Not sure how its going to help, since such changes comes from within the families, same as dowry and caste system. Or are we going to jail someone for refusing to choose a dark bride in the future?
