i stand by my post. regardless of deepika, the white girl in that movie was making faces like monkey. as i said just because someone is fair does not mean they look better.

This problem arises from the stereotypical thinking that only fair people can be pretty. You never see a dark person being called pretty or beautiful, people may use the word 'hot' or 'sexy' but never 'pretty'. But I think over the past few years there has been a change in the thinking of people.

i m new to this forum but this topic forced me to speak up.

Yes indian do believe in fairness and prefer fair over dark..people here never give opportunity to dark face for first row.
When someone teasethey will teaase on ur color.when u try to go out and atend any function..peeps literally ignore u...everywhere the confidence ais crushed beneathe the foot of such sick mind people...infact the Joke is if a boy comes to see a girl he wil prefer fair no mater how dark he himself is.
infact sad part is this ad and bolywod peps keep bosting the theory of fair women...sick...

I beg to differ from you. I believe beauty lies in your sense of self worth. I have wheatish skin and no I do not feel I am any inferior to a fair person and do not believe in 'enhancing my beauty by using fairness creams.'

And people on here who are like 'I love fair skinned people' I do not have anything against your personal preferences but if you think Penelope Cruz, Chitrandaga Singh or Nandita Das are not beautiful or hot just because they are dusky-complexioned, then forgive me when I say you are just shallow.
