The reason they have more womman shows because it sells. People are used to see vicious women wearing strapless blouses and net saris who love to plot against each other. Cat fight.....always entertaining for men. Men are shown mainly with clam head. It's the Bahu or the daughter who make all the fights in the house hold. Few times they show bad men, but they will put their evil personality on the women too.

Shows like Ayushman...a male dominated show had no chance. He was not evil. He was not making anyone cry. He wanted to be a doctor and this other doctor was making his life helli n the Medical school. Not emotional enough for Indian audience....So the show was discontinued due to lack of bickering women. Only if the show was named Dr.Ayisha with few mental problems and a lot of make up and few affairs...show would have been a hit.

Why do the majority of serials have female protagonists (heroines). Why do we have to watch the difficulties that women go through all the time? For a change, there should be a young guy facing many problems. Do you think that women should be leading or men?

I understand that they are trying to show that women are the ones who suffer and they show how they deal with all the pain. But surely this stuff doesnt happen in real life. It's just an 'exaggerated version'.

I'd love to see men tackle with problems. They go through trauma as well (like their in-laws, financial situations, being a father, etc.)

What do you say - do you think there should be more male protagonists cos a lot of us here are sick of these sas-bahu type stories.

Srry if I said anything bad!

well maybe women are the target audience for these shows so women are given prominence, and there are times when the focus is on men
