Experiments on Animals

It's acceptable if they use animals to test essential medical products which can save people's lives but these days it's becoming too much.

They use animals for luxury goods such as cigarettes, drugs, perfume, alcohol, etc. I don't know what you guys think but I personally find it cruel and pointless. Can't they use something else instead? This experimenting thing can harm animals. Animals are God's creation and we are made to look after these creations.

What are your views towards this?

Note: We're only talking about animal cruelty here. PLEASE don't start talking about veg and non-veg cos thats completely out of the question.

About what you said abt Aparna, I think ure right. She hates animal abuse as much as i do.

What I suggested abt the animal testing thing is probably something like a machine or a scientific experiment where the scientists look at chemicals under a microscope and stuff.

What I'm saying is that ppl can use animals if they like as long as they're doing it for an important reason (e.g. medical, nutrition, etc.) But the thing with the luxury items gets me a bit. I agree that it's essential cos employees earn big money for the business but this is my opinion and I personally think it's harming animals (and I DO have sympathy for smaller pests cos theyre living things too)

And killing animals for food is a completely different thing. Stupid me - I shouldn't have brought up this topic!!! 😡 😆

It may sound rude but I strongly believe in survival of the fittest theory. Anyone who has more power or is superior uses the weaker one as their prey...if you were in jungle and tiger sees you he will kill you and eat you, and same goes for humans. There are humans who do not use their power on helpless animals..they like to take care of them, but there are very few of them. Where to draw line and tell humans what to do and what not to do is very hard unless we pass a law....we are talking about same humans who do not think a bit to kill their own species for their selfish motive. I think using animals for experiement is cruel and sad, and eating them for pleasure (i am not talking about small population that has to eat meat for their survival like adivasis or people in extreme cold weather were tehre is no vegitation) is just same to me. I know you asked not to discuss this particular subject, but i could not help saying about it 😛 . In short, yes, it is cruel to use them on animals for their own pleasure and profit.

Actually, I think scientists and other manufacturers do consider other alternatives and if there aren't any they do not have any other choice besides testing on animals. Just think... if they used your relative or ANYONE's relative for testing a product.... wouldn't you want some animal for the testing instead. It is true... animal's are very precious creations made by God but... can we stop utilizing new and different things?? Can we stop running our businesses?? If this had happened... and many people's ideologies matched with this then majority of the world would have still been farming and there would have been hardly any development in food, something like cosmetics would have existed... which means no personal physical\facial development in appearance (something which people can't LIVE without nowadays), we wouldn't have gotten information about the heavenly bodies (astronomy)..... because a human couldn't be sent in a rocket to space without knowing if he would be back or not and what'll happen to him (chances of survival or no survival).... because of animal testing the world has developed a LOT.

And personally, I think many people in this world would prefer development over 'not' animal testing anytime.... because they are quite attached to this lifestyle... however still sad about this issue if they consider the fact that animals are living things, too and can experience pain and diseases (consequences of testing) just like us.

Sorry but cann't help asking - Why is it acceptable if they use animals to test essential medical products??

Do you think NVeg are equally guilty?

For luxury items - What are the alternatives then? if there are ways then am not sure why animal cruelity will be encouraged.
