umm...well i guess that maybe both Hollywood and Bollywood like each other's ideas, so to get their films and industry more popular, they use each other's ideas

Hollywood Goes Bollywood

In what marks a new trend in the making, American filmmaker Willard Carroll is shooting his first Bollywood production. Salman Khan stars in "Marigold: An Adventure in India," which is currently filming in Bombay. Khan, a major superstar in India, plays an Indian choreographer who meets an unsuccessful American actress (Ali Larter) who is stranded in India and forced to work in a Bollywood movie to get back home. A huge multi-million dollar industry in Asia, Bollywood films are gaining global popularity with such recent hits as "Monsoon Wedding" and "Bride and Prejudice."

Did anyone see the ad for Twister?? I saw it on Y! Tv yesterday ... its totally Indian! South Indian girls dancing and elephants (of course elephants ... i dunno why they always think of elephants along with indians) .. anyways and the song that is used for the ad has hindi lyrics too!! but the guy drinkin it is white and the product is american!

Recently, we had Passions showing this whole thing on India. Stores like The Bay or Sears in canada had an "Indian Heritage" month a year or so back where they displayed a lot of clothes and other items made with an indian look.

I think Hollywood, and the Western World in general is really influenced by India's rich culture and therefore, they like using all that to promote products or use a bollywood-ish look for their movies.

India on the other hand is gettin influenced by Hollywood. That i dont know why 😕 .. India has a rich culture in itself and doesnt need to copy others to get attention, so I could never understood why they are going Hollywood! 😕
