Sex education - my parents never gave me "the talk" ..all that i know is what i learnt on my own ... In fact i remember when i was around 12 and i read this readers' digest story about a rape victim and i asked my mom what rape meant and she told me to not read such stories 😳 Unfortunate really 😳 I hope i'm not as ... hesitant

My mom would definitely have give the talk, but I got my period so young that I don't think she was ready. She gave a very rushed explanation. My education is interesting. I was in 5th standard and was reading the newspaper. There was a whole one page AIDS awareness AD where one part said "STD can lead to AIDS". Now me being the nave me, thought STD was a phone call. I was so freaked – how can a phone call give AIDS. So I started researching……I started by reading dictionary definitions. And I was like ohhh!

Shak thinks all girls are going to send me lau PM due to my av. 😆

RTH - my mother didnt even give me the talk about why i have periods 😆😆😆 Again something i learnt on my own ... it wasnt even something that we would find out via school 😳

Even now.. sex and periods ...they are such uncomfortable topics ... I know my mum wouldnt be comfortable talking about it even now ... I'm sure she knows that i have figured things out but i sure as hell wish sex and reproduction werent such uncomfortable subjects around here ...

between adults and teenagers that is ... girls talk ...i have had very illuminating discussions with my friends 😆😆😆

and STD 🤣🤣🤣

Girls usually have gup-shup sex talk with their mom. But boys don't, even with their coolest of dad's. No dad would want his kid to be watching po*n in their absence, non forgetting the fact that baap bhi kabhi beta tha.

I always found my mom and sister having their hiss-piss sessions secretly in their room and silence when i entered. 😆 I use to be fine, cuz i know i had nothing to do with their girl talk. And I could neither have 'boy-talk' my dad which i wanted to. When I was a teen, my dad wasn't really as cool as he is now. Now, we really don't hesitate talking any shit about anything. Perhaps, that's what parental conflicts are meant to be.

All my sex gyan specially the girl thing, which i knew wa something fishy was cleared out to be by my girlfriend in class😆. I always asked her mindless questions and she answered. All the sex talk ended with her leaving the school after the same year. Damn, I still miss her you know.

There is nothing for boys to talk to their dad. There's hardly anything that men have to rant about maturing as a teen except for facial hair and cracking of vocal chords.

Oh the first time, I had a boner. I was like, why the hell is this standing and how to bring it down.🤣

And I still can't grow a french. I hate myself for it. 😡

Thats interesting.😆

Well My period is a huge history. I had thyroid problem, got it right at onset of puberty. As a result I had to undergo long treatment to get period normally. And since the treatment included frequent visits to endocrinologists etc, even my dad knew the girl stuff at some point.

my mother has always been forthcoming. We were not very curious kids, but when i was curious around 11-12 yrs old, she gave me an article to read. She is a student of biology, so getting scientific stuff from her was not that a problem. and once i got one article, reading newspaper science stuff and figuring things out was not that difficult.
BTW even i though STD as the phone call.

But yes offcourse we don't discuss stuff like that with dad. Although I am free to use cuss words in his presence and all, but I prefer not to misuse it.

See I always thought it was much more easier for boys. But I guess American Pie isn't exactly the typical father-son relationship. 😆 I know for sure that gup-shup about sex within teenage boys gets a lot more naughtier than gup-shup amidst girls. If studies are true then boys are also masturbating frequently at 10, with it peaking in the teens. Even with girl talk, that topic was never brought up in India.

So Arwen, have you ever been curious enough to look up po*n? Speaking of M&B, reading "Reading Lolita in Tehran" reminded me of my high school days when I would be sitting in the back row at school reading Sidney Sheldon or some steamy novel. It was like my own clandestine operation in the back row. If I were caught it meant books being confiscated, parents being called, being embarrassed in front of whole class. But in the grander scheme of things, my rule breaking is at best foolish. We who have it easy in life, really don't know what courage is all about.

@Shak - 🤣🤣🤣

@Tani - I'm sure my dad knows the girl stuff (he has been married a long time now 😆)but he would never ever know about the timings 😆 ... like i said, i hope i;m not as uptight and hesitant ... maintaining the decorum is one thing but still there has to be a balance ...
