Allright folks. Your child is sick - deathly sick. Would you rather take her to a pediatrist who became one on quota or one who was smart and hard working enough to become one to begin with?

It depends on who is better, not all quota doctors are bad. Dr.Mohammed Rela , one of the best surgeons in the world who lately was called in to operate on Pramod Mahajan took admission through quota. Also since I am from an OBC family, many of my brothes and sisters have taken admissions through OBC quota but they have successfully completed the course, and are doing very well in their fields , one is a M.D. In KEM Hospital, the best hospital in India and others are at high posts in the IT industry. Though I have never used the OBC tag to me and all the admissions I have taken are purely on the basis of merit.

Taking my view.....

Though I m highly educated.... I am an average intelligent student.... I have appeared for CAT once and got reasonably good marks but still I cant go to reasonably good institution.... through open class.... I never complained about it but now is the high time.... its not the question of our future but the future of next generation....

A revolution is called for and it wl happen........

Guys,
The debate is going good so far. It's always healthy to hear both side of stories and discuss them. Just a reminder, this is NOT a warning, just a reminder, please refrain from personal attack! This debate is going good so far. 😊

Thanks!

First, why was anyone named Mohammed on quota? - Another political non-sense. Muslims were rulers, not the ruled. THey were never less privileged then the rest... but I digress!
Anyway this rela guy apperently was in UK. If he proved his worth; good for him! But in UK he had to prove it without benefit of qouta - without that you would not have known that he is good. With due respect to you and your family, once one member got a high position, the rest were not underprivileged, were they? That is exactly what is wrong with the qouta system. Some famlilies keep claiming being underprivileged time after time, generation after generation while others have to fight those odds and compete with them. Seems to me that had I stayed in India, compared to your family, my family would have been less privileged but would my children have gotten benefit from that fact? No. 15- 20 years from now children in your family would still qualify for quota and mine would not.

I apologize. I do not mean to make this personal. I admire your candid way of discussion and I am discussing in the same spirit. I would not have mentioned your family if you hadn't. I couldn't have known. My respect to you and your family. THe culprit is the quota system.

Talking abt my family, Its not necessary that if my cousin brother gets a good job, he will bear all expenses of my study. Therefore i wil still be underprivileged.( i m just giving an example)

Please dont blame the Muslims as it wil hurt many of them here. Lets keep a healthy discussion here.

I agree that afte 10 years when i will hav a good job, my child will still be able to use the OBC tag and i know thast wrong. and thats the reason i m whole heartedly opposing it.

Excellent debate. I finally got time to read all 9 pages , as well as the transcript of the Interview with Karan Thapar. Thanks you for posting it.

My views are , i am compeletely against any reservations based on caste system anymore. The Econmically weeker section do not need reservations , but better educations system from school level and scholarships at higher ed level. Those scholarships they must work for and prove them selves intellectually worthy of.

Plz continue this debate!! 😊
