Why in Junior colleges? Good question as you are sitting in Maharashtra. But certainly they are needed in many underdeveloped parts of India where still basic education is hampered because of races and castes.

I oppose to them in professional and valued institutions as the students here have some responsibilities towards the public and society which the person coming on quota can not satisfy.

Kyon ki jo Quota avail karta hain more than 90% of those will become corrupt in future.

U said that their basic education is hampered? Cant the Govt. provide with proper basic education so that heir foundation is made strong instead of giving them reservations. Then in future also as they are not successful in Professional courses, they demand reservations in job and dat is what is happening.

Instead of reservations the Govt. would be better of with better Govt. Schools and admissions in KVs to all.

I have a suggession here..

Why dnt they have seperate universities for the reservation ppl instead of touching the other institutions.. if suppose a person is really talented, he can enter the best institutions else, he has to join the universities which are mainly for people having reservation.. with this, nor we are affected and nor they are...

wat do u people say abt it

New Zealand climber Mark Inglis, a double-amputee, is given a welcome home card by a schoolboy when he arrived at Christchurch airport, from Kathmandu on Friday, May 25, 2006.

Inglis, 47, became the first double-amputee to conquer Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, last week on specially created legs.

Inglis once worked as search and rescue mountaineer at Mount Cook National Park located in southern New Zealand and famous for its glaciers. He was stranded for 14 days in an cave during a snowstorm in 1982. His legs were severely affected by frost bite and had to be amputated. In the intervening years Inglis trained himself to be a legless mountaineer and ski guide and earned a degree in biochemistry to do research and became a winemaker.

On the way to the 8,848-metre summit, Inglis' team found British climber David Sharp, 34, near death in a cave 300 metres below the summit, in a place known as the 'Death Zone.' They tried to help but Inglis said they could do little for Sharp and they carried on to the summit. Sharp later died and Inglis' personal triumph was marred by accusations from many, including Everest conqueror Sir Edmund Hillary that he and 40 other climbers on the peak that day did not do enough to help Sharp.

This season itself eight climbers have died on Mount Everest.

If he can do it without legs.... Why cant we do the simple task of protests....

U did not get my point... As U see in Swades there are many places in India where people from supposed to be lower castes are deprived of the education in the same school where Supposed to be higher caste people study.

Assam, Orissa, most of North east, some southern places villages are the few examples where racism exists. First we wl have to clear this racism to reduce the reservations to zero....

But reservation is not a solution, it is part of the disease. This politics of cast, reservation is only making cast fault-lines more visible....it is dividing the nation.

You are right, reservation is a paethtic attempt to treat rascism, but is bein misused. However no one is trying to make an attempt to end it, they are just trying to help those affected. It is a problem which needs to be removed from its roots as Apartheid was done in SA .

right deepak.. it is dividing the nation.. education in villages has to be promoted.. there are many children who are deprived from the education.. and these cant come from reservation.. as abhi said, the higher caste people in many villages are against the lower caste studying in schools.. but these are not the causes for bringing reservation.. we youth if we can protest against the reservation, we can also help these people get the right education.. so, we ve to spread awarness in these places that caste system is no more..
