^^ It IS a very stupid thing to ask anyone. Agreed. 😳

But the thought is still persevere. Yesterday I happened to catch this little bit of Roadies on MTV wherein either Raghu or Rajeev told one of the contestants who'd come for the audition that he's no life. For, he spends most of his free time on the internet.

Now, in that fashion, he was partially right. You dun have anywhere to go, no friends to see, you go online. Point is, how does anyone get to decide if you are a loser, get what I mean? It is a very brutal thing to say. While I agree most people who spend more than say, a couple of hours on the internet don't really have a social life but how does that make em a loser? I dun have a social life, at all. But whether or not I am a loser, only my actions and achievements get to decide, not some random man on TV judging people on the basis of the tactics they implement to get into their show.

More so, I do know that 'worldly wise' is the last trait I can be associated with. So, while I do need to go out, see people for what they are, I think the internet still remains this one medium I got to just as mundane things as the 'real world' has to offer. There is no such thing as goodwill left anywhere much, anyway, I'd say.

Questions:

Do you think people who spend more than two hours on the computer for things apart from study and work are, 'losers'?

What is so appealing about virtue that no one wants to get out of there Facebook-comfort-zone?

depends. if the person gets more entertained via the comp then no he isn't. But if he aimlessly does it and doesn't really do anything but sit in front of the comp he is kind of wasting his time.

Hey the internet is a great source for knowledge too.
It all depends how it is utilized.
But yes a balance is needed in all things.
I read a lot of sports and other news from the internet.
But when I am with family and real people I do not go on the net ( considered rude and inconsiderate by some).
A loser is a person who stops trying or give up easily. We must make the effort and be patient. Results matter but it does not mean we are losers if we fail, so long as we keep trying we are winners.

Not doing anything and just sitting in front of the computer is not feasible, dun you think?
While I am sure, many would love to do that, it's pointless, yes.

Oh, yes. The word is balance, the balance in the most mundane, routine-like things. Though, what I am really trying to ask it whether the whole virtually-inclined persona of someone makes em this insult in the name of someone who has legs, because all they do is hang em off the chair all day in front of the computer. 🤓

Many people who are actively social in real life will find that people who socialize only on the internet are losers.

Behaviorists though have found that internet socialization is no different than real life socialization – the only difference is the mode of communication and connection has changed to a virtual medium.

Most people in today's day and age will have a blend of real and virtual socialization.

Although a very small group socializes, interacts and spends majority to 100% of their time on the internet – as long as they socialize, perform day to day tasks, have steady employment to sustain their lifestyles – then there is no harm in it. Just because some people need to see people, be around people and talk face to face sometimes does not mean that other humans cannot be content with virtual only interactions.

That random man on TV is judging because that guy gave him the chance to judge him. That guy went there willing to undergo the scrutiny and judgement. That random man has his own yardstick just like everyone else. In someone else's yardstick that random man might be a loser for producing such a garbage show. It's all subjective.

Living only a virtual life on the internet and be unable/unwilling to mingle with real people makes a person weird or odd. I would still not call them a loser. Usually, they turn out to be geeks or pedophiles based on what are they doing on the internet.

Makes sense, yes.
But you know right, that a LOT of people watch Roadies and I do not have in me the capability to make out for myself what is garbage and what is not, whatsoever so I dun watch it. But the thing is, the people who do watch might really feel like it's some sort of mass attack. Personally, the whole stint put in my head the very same thought too, the mass attack one cause lately, I have come across a lot of assumptions that people have in their minds about people active in cyberspace.

Um. Living only a virtual life isn't possible, cause there's still stuff that pertains to one's physical reach. But well, it is always likely that there should be this real big hole in a person's social circle that they choose internet as a better medium to 'have a life'. I think it is very easy to manipulate on the internet, and the works. I guess being online is mostly avoiding the inconvenience of going out and discovering people are the same everywhere, you can't really classify into kinds the people who do whatever they do on the internet, not really.
