It would leave any one in shock and horror the way a major bomb blast in Oslo was followed by shooting spree nearby. (May they rest in peace..!)

Anders Behring Breivik, the main suspect in the Norwegian bomb attacks and shootings, has been described by police as a Christian fundamentalist with right-wing views.

In discussions going on at more serious strategic mansions many consider him a lone psychopath, acts of whose can't be referred to as christian terrorism. But there are some who feel this is beginning of christian fundamentalism which was growing under all these years.
In a discussion on al jazzera it was being said that The military might of the west has been abused by the fundamentallist "crusaders.
The Euopean phenomenon where mass immigration and political refugees swamped many EU states, was allowed so that socialist parties could win elections has had its backlash with neo-Nazi and right-wing fundamentalist groups growing in strength. The British extremist BNP won a seat in the EU parliament for the first time and just a few days in Germany,Rudolph Hess' (if the man buried in it was really Hess, much evidence against it) grave was removed because it had become a rallying point for Neo-Nazis.

Since we are talking cause and effect
An argument can also be made as Wherever Muslim immigration rises also leads to fundamentalistic attacks by Islamicist, not for atrocities committed against them in that country, but some far away land like Isreal or Kashmir or Timbaktoo. So a lot of people in various countries(And Christianity also happens to be flavor of religion most popular in tons of countries ) want to put an end before it starts.
Bottom line: People who are so hell bent on looking through religious tinted glasses everywhere only see religion everywhere😆. I havent checked religious affiliations, but if you were to you would find most dead in the Norway terror attacks would also be Christians,
Hey you wanted an counter argument, you may not like it, but you got one😉

Interrogations will reveal more facts, but he is a danger to society and should be locked up forever until the age of 70, ie if they do not hang him.
I think such lunatics live in another world and are devoid of emotions. In some ways possessed maybe.

It's more a question of power through money that is in conflict rather than any crusades - be it Christian or Islamic. Terror is more often than NOT cultivated

No Norway trial before next year: prosecutor

OSLO - NORWEGIAN mass killer Anders Behring Breivik will not be brought to trial before next year, the country's top prosecutor said on Thursday, ruling out the laying of formal charges until at least January.

'We hope that we can conduct the court trial in the course of next year,' the king's general prosecutor Tor Aksel Busch - the country's highest legal officer - told public broadcasters NRK.

The indictment for the 32-year-old, in solitary custody after acknowledging responsibility for 76 deaths in a shooting spree and bomb attacks, 'will not be ready before the end of the year,' 'That's the starting point,' he said. 'And then, we'll see how long we will need next year.'

Acting prosecutor Ingunn Fossgard told AFP on Thursday that given the 'huge and demanding investigation, the police need time.' Police have so far cited the law on terrorism as the basis for possible charges, provoking public uproar given that the longest likely sentence would be 21 years - amounting to just weeks for every one of Behring Breivik's victims.

But prosecutor Christian Hatlo said this week that police are also envisaging charging him with 'crimes against humanity' for the bombing of Oslo's government district and the shooting of participants in a youth camp on a nearby island.

A conviction on this charge would carry a 30-year sentence. 'All possibilities are being explored,' Mr Fossgard said. -- AFP
