Although as usual you haven't put n your opinion.

Its a matter of perception what is indecent dressing . Everybody has their limits depending on their family background ,education and some other factors .

If you asks my grandmother , she won't be comfortable with even a sleeveless saree blouse or Kurta .

If you ask my mom , she has never been to fond of me wearing shorts ( although i always worth them while growing up).But she thinks sleeveless is fine .

If you ask me , i believe as long as one wears a dress at the appropriate place its fine and decent . Meaning if i am hanging out at a pub , i'd wear a spaghetti top .Going to the gym i'll wear my shorts . If i was visiting some relatives i wouldn't even wear shorts now . So appropriate dressing is the key word.

u dress acc to the place u go....
if u go to a social gathreing and wear a micro mini...obviously for many rather the majority will say its indecent while some may say decent...but if u wear this to a disco..its fine....
u shud dress acc to the environment u will b exposed to... 😛 😛 😛

If i understand correctly, you intend to ask what qualify's as indecent, i believe it depends on our value system, if the morality is imbibed in the children from beginning, trust me the issue of indecent or immoral dressing in this society would not arise. What is indecent is a perception of the person who is privy to such a situation.

I believe even if a female is fully dressed, say in salwar, kurta and duppata included, she can be embarrassed by people's gazing, the looks of the people would make the female feel she is not appropriately dressed, similarly even if the female is dressed in western modern style, she would not have a feeling of inappropriate dressing, if there are no starved men and moral police around.

So I believe it is not the dress or the amount of clothes which are parameters for decent or indecent dress, it is the values and the intention of the person wearing them.

But kamlesh it is also necessary for a gal or guy to dress properly so that they can protect them from such gaze.
We should not induce the opposite sex by wearing such costumes.As Aparana said when we go for a pub it is a different thing but when we go to Church or temple we should be neatly dressed.

But believe ,now we cant measure and paste how short or transparent is acceptable.I dont think there is any necessity to describe that.That every normal individuals feel by themselves when they wear such dresses.

Dear Kavita;

I agree with you, infact this is what i said, my last line, it reads as " intention of the person wearing them", further i believe it is not the dress which is decent or otherwise, it is the person wearing it, if he / she can carry it, no matter whatever dress it may be , in a aesthetic manner, no dress is decent or indecent.

I believe gazing or ogling at other just because he/ she is wearing what he or she likes, is inappropriate on part of the looker / gazer.

But I also agree, it is also the responsibility of the person wearing the dress, he / she should dress according to the occasion.

An attire may be considered indecent not just because one is wearing it but where one is wearing it. However, shortness of dress or transparency is no criteria for considering a dress decent or indecent.

As everyone said, there is no hard n fast rule for this.. it depends on the "place" where u r . In my room, where i am alone..i can wear anything...i want, and there is no question of 'decency' or 'indecency'. This question arises when i am at certain place with some certain ppl. The dress which ppl appreciated in a party, may seem offending to them at funeral place.

And i have heard that "to go in nudist clubs by wearing any dress is considered as 'indecent dressing"

Sometimes there are rules and 'code of conduct', but most of the time we have to use our common sense.

exactly the point is follow the code of conduct and rest would be fine, for even if a females wears a burkha and goes out there would be some people who would make cat calls.
