20 years ago if a renowned Muslim artist drew half nude pictures of Hindu gods he would have been ignored or appreciated, today he is run out of the country and a huge population supports it
20 years ago a muslim had the most famous Hindu bhajan of the hindi film industry, today a Muslim would get a fatwa on his head for singing a Hindu bhajan and a huge population will just zip up and let it happen.
Yesterday was a day of just all the court decided was a judgement should be declared on a later day and the schools ran at less than half the capacity.

Truer words haven't been spoken! Such a sorry state of affairs that instead of moving forward, we have regressed! As a people, we are becoming less and less tolerant. All this bloodshed for a piece of land - such is the value of human life...
I strongly agree with the poster who suggested building a school that offers free education to the under-privileged. People have contributed millions on both sides; let's put it to good use!
@RTH - I am not a heathen, but it sickens me that we fight over something as trivial as a piece of land.

It is sad that we fight over land. On one side, we say that God made this world and we are all his children and on the other hand, we draw boundaries and claim it as our own.
I question religious value of those people who really want to build their own version of holy place. They have so much time to burn on this issue, when do they get time to actually follow path of god? So much energy is being wasted away fighting over this issue.
what would they accomplish by making house of God with bricks? What's after that? Would they get their salvation? Would God give them a quick pass to heaven?

It is really sad to see people get fanatical over time, instead of moving forward. India has progressed in so many ways since I left the country ten years ago. It is amazing how much my hometown has grown and how many opportunities average Indians have. But we seem to have gone backwards in many ways. This painting controversy was back when I was in school and then in 2006 - we had an extreme outcome instead of it blowing over in time. I was also shocked to hear there were massive protests against Da Vinci code in India

The last time I suggested a mall. That did not go down well. šŸ˜† In all earnestness though, I agree - there are actually many positive ways to use the land that will benefit the country as a whole - not just a faction of the country.

This may sound totally cheesy, but the truth is faith is a matter of belief and resides in the heart and mind. No structure or anything can truly capture the essence of faith. Those who vest their faith in a piece of land and take it to the extreme, I don't think they actually have faith - but a narrow interest of utilizing the system to serve their selfish wants and ways.

Do people still care about this rotten, come-of-age, moth-eaten issue?

I dont, for one.

Well, the verdict is out..N looks like everybody should be happy with it because 1/3 rd of the land is given to the Muslims, and 1/3rd of it to Hindus. The remaining 1/3rd, is proved to be Ram Janmasthan, and if I am not wrong, it is given to Ram Lalla.

Whatever it is, I hope the peace is maintained.

^1/3rd to hindus, 1/3rd to muslims and remaining to some akhara...
It is interesting to see that pakistanis are watching all those happenings with more interest than indians themselves! Just checked few pakistani news channels...I am afraid , I just hope that nothing goes wrong with people there in pakistan...in 1992, hindu temples in Pak were demolished because of happenings in ayodhya...

Anyways I personally hope that people think beyond these issues...both whether hindus or muslims- try to search for a chance to fight on..
Personally i was in favour of a temple-mosque complex, like the one at uderolal, sindh but anyways division of land appears to be the only solution in todays scenario

they should just build a school over there where free education upto the age of 14 will be provided to both hindus and muslims. best way to teach atleast the next generation the meaning of unity.

So rightly said!šŸ‘

I tried to post a poem, but for some reason we don't have Hindi font here. My friend had written a beautiful poem regarding this issue.

I don't think we have seen an end to this...Nasty forces from both sides will like to make this a huge issue.

Do you know that nobody has invented any new gods in the past 1500 years

why ?

because people are becoming more sensible !!😊

Having temple and mosque side by side will only fuel future communal clashes !?

another, now there will be unequal competition who will make big mosque or bigger temple!?

think logically, court has not done it right when it is proved that by demolishing temple, masjid was built!

our future generation will also fight over this 1/3rd land and due to mandirMasjid together!?
Sometime I feel It is rediculous for all to fight for place in the name of praying god.we all know god is one and is universal. The judgement allows right to pray to both the communities by deviding the share in the same disputed land of 2.7 acres and build respective PRAYING STRUCTURES.
!!

Forget 1500 years. I think most of these are from the last 100 years. Humans are cra-cra. They are and forever will be. As long as humans live, we will make our own Gods and destroy them through the passage of time. I'm highly cynical about the sensibility of humans.
